sword lore

Despite being naturally spawned in Lost Temple, Sword was taken in by Venomshank as soon as he spawned, who took him to live in Crossroads with him, and serves as Sword's mentor and guardian. Sword had a sheltered upbringing, and thus isn't aware of many major events in the Inpherno, such as having no idea about the Scorch until Darkheart tells him about it. Sword didn't have the chance to talk to other inphernals other than Venomshank until very recently in his life. He is close to Rocket, who is his best friend, and to Medkit, whom he sees as a sibling.

Sword is related to the Swords by blood, though in what way is currently unknown. Despite this, Sword has no idea that he is related to demi-deities like Ban Hammer and Flipside, on account of Venomshank telling him very little about his relatives.

He is almost always seen with his signature steel gladiatorial helmet, which was a gift from Venomshank to protect him from any dangers he may face. He is only seen taking it off to go to sleep.[

sword desc

Sword is kind-hearted, yet naive. When he has his eyes set on a goal, he is extremely determined and will stop at nothing to achieve it. he wears a full set of silver armour with red details and a head peice. he has light skin and carries around and expoosive sword.

katana desc

Katana wears a porcelain[5] mask, fully covering his face until halfway through his scalp with eye slits reminiscent of an owl. The mask is held in place by a red strap across the back of the head. A graphic of the Thieves' Den logo is on the forehead and the area between the eye slits. A smaller set of wooden[6] fake tusks juts from the lower jaw, ostensibly being a part of the mask rather than his jaw. He also sports a haori-jacket fusion, but with his chest more revealed. He has a rope that ties his outfit together at the waist. On his lower body, he wears kyahan paddings on his legs with laces that tie them. His footwear is a pair of geta — traditional wooden slippers worn by samurai. His weapon is a large katana with glowing markings and a red scabbard attached at the hip.

His horns are similar to that of a bull's. Protruding out from the side of his head then curving forward and upwards; tapering into sharp points.Katana is a cold and mysterious inphernal who generally keeps to himself. He is extremely dedicated to his mission of cleansing the "corruption" within the Inpherno, and values it above all else. He takes great lengths to hone his skills with his gear, going so far as to travel to all ends of the Inpherno and its various regions to broaden his abilities and perspective.[4]

katana lore

Katana was unnaturally spawned in Lost Temple to his two caretakers, whom raised him alongside his biological sibling. After they lost their parents in the Scorch, Katana and his sibling—whose identity is currently unknown—joined The Church of the TRUE EYE, which at that time was a newly-formed extremist group. The two of them went on to prove extreme loyalty to the family, working directly under the high priest of the Church, Father Overseer. However, after an incident wherein Katana was disgraced by the Father and the rest of the Church, he fled to Thieves' Den and left his sibling behind. He was taken in by the Darkage Clan, whom he has been affiliated with ever since.

Katana's mission in life is to cleanse the Inpherno of any and all "corruption", which he considers to be the likes of Father Overseer and his Church. Like many survivors of the Scorch, he hates all of the the Swords, whom he believes to have failed him, his family, and all the inphernals they are meant to protect.

He currently lives in Crossroads, in the same apartment block as Slingshot, Shuriken, and Vine Staff, much to his chagrin. He was friends with Scythe when they were both in the Church, and has recently become acquaintances with Hyperlaser.[3]

rocket desc

Rocket is a light-skinned inphernal with four horns that are blue in color. He has two long horns on the side of his head that slightly curl upward and another smaller set underneath.

Rocket wears a pair of blue U-shaped goggles. He sports a blue and yellow jacket which is open in the middle with both sleeves rolled up. On the back of his jacket is a picture of exploding bricks, under his jacket he wears a yellow shirt with a silver dog tag around his neck. His left hand is covered by a dark blue glove while his right arm is a full metal prosthesis. Similar to his arm, his left leg is a metallic prosthetic, which is partially covered by his rolled up pant leg. His pants are blue with a yellow stripe going around the cuffs, supported by a blue belt with a silver buckle and grommets.

His namesake gear, The Rocket Launcher, has a gray barrel and sports a blue neon ring near the front, with a yellow and black caution stripe nearby. Attached to it is a gray scope on left side of the launcher with the trigger and grip is located directly under the launcher. Further down the barrel is a black divot which is then followed up by a neon blue . Both ends being hollowed for the rockets coming out of it.Rocket is a hot-headed inphernal who can be very loud and confrontational. Despite his brash exterior, he is loyal to his loved ones and works extremely hard.

rocket lore

Rocket was naturally spawned into Playground and lived there for the majority of his life as a newspawn, but was forced to leave the region after an unknown incident cost him his arm and leg. In the process of leaving Playground, he met Zuka, whom he became very close with, and eventually became Rocket's guardian figure. Zuka brought him to Crossroads, where he has lived since. He then met Sword, who became his best friend. Sword would go on to introduce him to Medkit, who ended up making Rocket's prosthetic arm and leg for him.

Rocket works with Zuka in their shop in the top layer of Crossroads, where the two of them provide artificial gear for other inphernals, as well as general handyman services. Rocket begrudgingly works with The Broker, who supplies the materials used for creating artificial gears and other weapons.

subspace lore

Subspace was naturally spawned in Blackrock, where he was raised by various members of the KORBLOX Administration. He is an accomplished scientist in the fields of robotics engineering and organic chemistry, and had formerly worked as a scientist alongside Medkit. During their time working under the KORBLOX Administration, Medkit developed the first known instance of energy crystals. However, the two have never gotten along, and as a result of a violent altercation between them, Subspace became afflicted with an unknown ailment described simply as "The Rot".

Despite this, Subspace continued his research and developed his own kind of energy crystal. He would go on to invent the Biograft robots, which are utilized for a variety of duties in KORBLOX, from maintenance to infantry. Subspace is well-recognized for his work among the KORBLOX Administration, being relatively high-ranking within the group, and the head of the KORBLOX robotics division as a whole.

Subspace struggles with The Rot, which primarily manifests as a slew of bright pink lesions across his entire body, and his flesh rotting away with no clear cause. The Rot mostly affects his right arm and left eye, and while it is not inherently contagious, he produces an extremely toxic gas within his body that is highly fatal to those around him. He has to wear a mask when around other inphernals so as to prevent them from being poisoned.

The Rot severely affects Subspace in his daily life. He is unable to see out of his left eye, and struggles with depth perception in the right. His right arm has very limited mobility, and his body is unable to recover energy at a typical rate to other inphernals, leaving him easily fatigued. The flesh around his mouth has began to rot, thus causing him to struggle with eating and a difficulty tasting food at all. Due to his difficulties, Subspace invented the Gamma Biograft; a special, one-of-a-kind Biograft that serves as a medical assistant for Subspace.

subspace desc

Subspace's first set of pink horns starts at the backside of his head, curling around the side of his head before winding upwards; tapering into sharp points to frame his glowing pink, star-shaped, energy crystal. His second, smaller set starts below the first directly on the side of his head and winds forwards, curving upwards much the same way as the first.

He wears a grey gasmask with red accents. An eyepatch is over his left eye, the strap going over his head to underneath his gas mask. He wears a black and dark grey, slanted bengal-striped, sleeveless tanktop. Over his right arm, he wears a grey one-sleeve shoulder wrap with an intricate Greek-key pattern indicative of Blackrockian designs, red accents, and two grey clasps on the strap over the front of his torso. Two bands criss cross on his right thigh. He wears dark gray boots with pink soles.Subspace is an egotistical, sadistic, and self-centered inphernal who will do just about anything to achieve his goals, even at the expense of those around him.[6] He views others poorly, going so far as to see his own coworkers as expendable.[7] He has a notable prejudice towards inphernals that were spawned anywhere other than Blackrock.[8][9]

He prefers to work independently, being a difficult person to collaborate with within his division in KORBLOX, with the reputation to match. Despite all this, Subspace is generally fond towards his robotic inventions, preferring to work with them over any living inphernal.

slingshot desc

Slingshot is a perfectionist, striving for nothing but the best in himself and his work, especially his baking. He can oftentimes push himself past his limits in pursuit of this. He has little tolerance for nonsense, usually coming across as a very blunt individual. Despite this, he softens around his loved ones, and tries to find time outside his work to have fun.

slingshot lore

Slingshot was naturally spawned in Thieves' Den into the Darkage Clan, where he worked as a warrior alongside Shuriken. The two of them became very close during their work together, eventually considering each other siblings.

Up until recently, Slingshot continued to work for the Darkage Clan, but chose to resign from his position and move to Crossroads for a better life. Slingshot is a baker and runs a café called Thieves' Rest in the second layer of the city, and aspires to be successful enough to move his cafe up to the top layer one day. Slingshot lives in an apartment together with Shuriken and Vine Staff, whom he also considers his sibling. The two of them work for him in his café.

Since Slingshot's resignation from the Darkage Clan, he considers himself to be factionless. He is friends with Skateboard, neighbors with Katana, and often interacts with Coil, who is a regular patron at Thieves' Rest, much to his annoyance

shuriken desc

Shuriken is a light-skinned inphernal with two long horns, each starting at his forehead and curving slightly upward. Both horns’ bases start out green and then slowly fade into their natural pink color.

While not wearing his mask, Shuriken’s face can be seen wearing green makeup under his eyes, as well as a pink, blue, and green dot triangle pattern on his forehead, which references his bond with his siblings. His mask is reminiscent of traditional oni masks, which sports a green and black color scheme that coincides with the rest of his outfit. The teeth of the mask have two sets of fangs and thick, cloudlike eyebrows, which support the traditional look of the outfit.

Shuriken wears a black shinobi shozoku with grey hand wrappings and a grey hood ripped from a different set of clothing, with only part of the left sleeve and the upper half of the torso attached to the upper half of his shozoku. A long scarf is also clipped to the back of his hood. His hood, chest, the eyes on his mask, and the ends of his scarf each have the same green circular pattern on all of them. Along his chest is a strap that is connected to the bag on his side that holds his various tools. His weapons are green shuriken with bright neon green tips on them and a kunai. He has a green cord tied around his waist, resembling obijime or haori himo, which acts as a belt. His shoes are white and black with green laces

Shuriken is a sentimental inphernal who cares more about his family than he does about himself. Although he often teases and messes with them, he will go to great lengths to make sure his siblings, Slingshot and Vine Staff, are happy and safe, even at his own expense. Despite this, he has a greater desire for purpose in life, seeking this out in his secret vigilante alter ego, "Silver Shadow", which he hides from his siblings so as not to worry them. Shuriken has struggled to settle into Crossroads, and doesn't have many friends and is lonely as a result

shuriken lore

Shuriken was unnaturally spawned in Thieves' Den, immediately after his older sibling Vine Staff, to their two caretakers. Shuriken was taken in and accepted by the Darkage Clan without hesitation, but was separated from his sibling, since she was banished by Darkage due to the "curse" she spawned with. In Darkage, Shuriken was trained as a warrior and was extremely skilled in this endeavor, going on to be regarded as a great warrior by the Clan. It was in Darkage where Shuriken met Slingshot, and the two became extremely close, going on to regard one another as siblings.

Together, the two of them would go out and meet Vine Staff at night, even though it was forbidden for them to do so. Eventually, the three of them decided to leave Thieves' Den to live in Crossroads, which was ultimately the safest place for Shuriken's siblings. However, Shuriken did not take well to the humdrum of city life, finding his life without purpose. In the pursuit of becoming something greater, he adopted a vigilante persona—known as "Silver Shadow"—under the cover of night, where he now fights against crime and keeps the streets of Crossroads safe.

Shuriken's siblings aren't aware of his alter ego, and are none the wiser when he shows up for his daytime job at Slingshot's café, Thieves' Rest. He works as a waiter, but struggles with exhaustion due to his vigilante work, and oftentimes falls asleep in the middle of the day. Although he cares greatly for his siblings, he keeps mostly to himself and tries not to worry them with what's going on in his life. Despite everything, he longs to one day be reunited with his Clan.

Shuriken lives in the same apartment block as Katana and is his neighbor.[2]

boombox desc

Boombox is one of the few rays of light within the Inpherno. He is extremely compassionate, selfless, and always striving to help other inphernals with anything that he can. However, this kindness can sometimes be taken advantage of by others. Despite his altruism, he feels as though he doesn't do enough for others. He struggles with self-worth and self-respect, valuing others above himself, even if it's to his own detriment.

Boombox has two green horns protruding from both sides of his head that curve up and point inwards, with 2 grey rings on Boombox's right horn and one on the left. Around the start of the horn, two light grey rings are connected to the visor and horns. On the visor are two green glowing circles, resembling eyes, accompanied by a bracket shaped mouth right below. He wears a backwards dark green cap with a light green stripe and a gray brim. He wears a green shirt with rolled up sleeves, alongside a darker green tie. On his chest, he has a strap across his chest from his shoulders, which are a dark green. Boombox wears green gloves, with a thumb hole on both. Boombox's pants are dark green with a metal chain on his right leg. On his left leg, he has a double-outlined lime green star design. His shoes are lime with star decorations on the sides, which glow. The vamp of his shoe is white, with outlines on the rest of the shoe which glow the same color as the star.

His namesake gear, the Boombox, is grey, with neon green accents throughout it. The top of the boombox curves upwards, and connects to the holder. On the front of the boombox are two large darker grey circles on each side, with neon green emitting from them. The sides of the boombox are lined with the same neon green.

boombox lore

Boombox was naturally spawned into the Splintered Skies territory, where he was accepted into Windforce's kingdom, providing her with his supporting capabilities. As a newspawn, he became close friends with Skateboard, who was spawned on the island. However, Skateboard was later exiled by Windforce, forcing Boombox to be exiled alongside him. The two landed in Craterdust Capital, with them becoming best friends ever since.

Boombox is a popular musician in Playground, with his main genre of choice being EDM. He took his music with him when he moved to Crossroads, but is still relatively underground in the city compared to his home. He lives in an apartment where he keeps all the instruments he has learned to play over time, due to his love for music.

He is close friends with Skateboard's family, as well as Coil. He is a huge fan of the idol duo Flipside and hopes to befriend them someday.[

hyperlaser desc

Hyperlaser wears an armored helmet with a blacked out visor. Blue stripes run down either side of the helmet, and a pair of blue and black antennae adorn the helmet in place of horns. He wears a grey suit with a blue collar, closed with a button on his right side. His right sleeve has two short horizontal blue stripes on the shoulder, while the left has two dark grey stripes that run vertically down the whole length of his arm. His sleeves end with white cuffs with blue buttons. He has black pants that run down to grey boots, marked with more blue accents on the sides and soles.

Underneath his armor, Hyperlaser has burn scars all across his body. He has four horns, two on each side, which have been rendered into stubs.Hyperlaser is a very quiet individual who doesn't tend to speak much, but finds himself often curious about the inner workings of the KORBLOX Administration. When he does talk, he can come across as intimidating, but he has a soft spot for cats, such as his own pet, Princess.

hyperlaser lore

Hyperlaser was naturally spawned in Blackrock under the KORBLOX Administration. He was raised as a soldier in the KORBLOX military division, where he was trained to fulfill a variety of mercenary jobs; such as assassinating targets or being a bodyguard.

At some point in his life, Hyperlaser was involved in an incident that burned his entire body; leaving him covered in scars from head to toe, his horns sundered into stubs, and rendering him legally blind. He is unable to see properly without his signature helmet, which was made for him by his contractor, Subspace. He works for multiple inphernals under the KORBLOX Administration as one of its few remaining living soldiers, floating around from job to job as he sees fit. When he's not working, he lives in District 4, Blackrock, with his pet cat named Princess, whom he found abandoned while on a mission in Crossroads.

Hyperlaser is not one to make friends. Most of his friends are deceased, and he struggles to get close to other inphernals. Despite this, he has recently become acquaintances with Katana.[4]

medkit lore

Medkit was unnaturally spawned in Blackrock to his two caretakers, and was immediately taken in by the KORBLOX Administration. His gear, being a healing class gear, is a very rare occurrence within the Inpherno. His gear allows him to heal the wounds and injuries of other inphernals with the abilities he was spawned with, making him a highly coveted asset to the KORBLOX Administration. He worked as a scientist alongside Subspace, using his incredible intellect and talents in the fields of engineering and chemistry to help further KORBLOX's research. During their time working under the KORBLOX Administration, Medkit developed the first known instance of energy crystals. Medkit and Subspace never got along, and after they had an altercation in which Medkit lost his left eye, he escaped Blackrock and fled to Crossroads.

In Crossroads, he was picked up by an extremist group which had just formed in Lost Temple shortly following the Scorch, and went on to offer this group—later known as The Church of the TRUE EYE—his various abilities, in exchange for protection from the KORBLOX Administration. Medkit suffers from severe PTSD as a result of his time in Blackrock, and struggles with intense paranoia and constant night terrors.

Medkit is closest to Sword, whom he sees like a sibling, and is subsequently friends with Rocket. He works underneath Scythe, who is his boss, alongside The Broker.[4]

medkit desc

Medkit is a well put-together inphernal, who dons a suit in the uniform style of The Church of the TRUE EYE,[5] and whose signature color is teal. He has two horns which closely resemble antlers that protrude from the sides of his head and extend upwards. On each horn, he has two tines following the same direction, and he wears a gold ring on his bottom right tine. In between both horns sits a floating crystal, which is the source of his gear's power. He wears a diamond shaped eyepatch with an inset gold trim over his left eye, covering his removed and stitched eye, and he is commonly seen with a disgruntled or forlorn expression.

His suit is predominately a dark forest green, with bright teal accents throughout. His suit jacket opens up to reveal a teal cravat tied around the collar, and with gold trim on both sleeves, and a diamond shaped appliqué just above the cuffs. He wears high waisted dress pants in a teal argyle pattern, a motif he shares with Scythe. His pants are fastened by two gold buttons at the waistband. He wears dark teal gloves on both hands, and forest green dress shoes.

He wields his medkit in his left hand, and his revolver in his right. Both are adorned with the same teal argyle motif as his uniform, and are trimmed with gold. His revolver is a distinctly brighter teal than his medkit, matching the color of his horns and cravat where the pattern is applied across the barrel and the grip. The sight, muzzle, hammer and trigger are all gold, with the rest of the gun being a dark teal. His medkit resembles a briefcase, exhibiting the same argyle pattern, along with a teal cross on the upper side, and gold accents along the body of the medkit, the corners, and the handle. The handle also has a bright teal grip.

Despite Medkit's intellect, he has become an extremely paranoid person in the aftermath of his life in Blackrock. He is typically very flat with his interactions, and tries not to get too close to anyone.

vine staff desc

Vine Staff has two moderately long horns, starting from the side of her head curling forward then upwards. Each horn has three identical thorns extruding from the front face.

She wears a pink kimono which is decorated with flower patterns. At her waist, she has an obi belt tied into a bow in the back. She wears a headband with a hanamusubi knot tied on the right side. Her left arm is made of light-grey colored wood and she uses this same arm to wield her gear, which is a winding wood staff ending on a bowline. A pink flower with a light yellow pistil rests at the top of it while a fluorescent flower sits on the inside of the curl. Vine Staff wears traditional makeup, with lipstick and eyeliner. She wears a necklace with a golden koban. Her boots are black with pink laces.

Vine Staff has yet to socialize much with other inphernals, so she often comes across as eccentric to others. However, she is earnest and eager to connect with other inphernals, despite her own lack of confidence and misgivings about people as a whole, largely thanks to her upbringing. She longs to meet another inphernal with the same condition as her.

vine staff lore

Vine Staff was unnaturally spawned in Thieves' Den, immediately before her younger sibling Shuriken, to their two caretakers. Vine Staff was spawned with an unusual mutation where the entirety of her left arm is made out of wood, which can be broken off from her body and regenerated. The Darkage Clan—the ruling faction of Thieves' Den—did not take kindly to her mutation and deemed it a "curse", thus banishing Vine Staff from the clan permanently and separating her from her sibling.

For most of her life, Vine Staff lived alone in the jungles of Thieves' Den. She would go on to discover that she has an unexplained connection to the landscape of her home, able to control and influence the growth of the dangerous inphernal-eating plants that live there. At night, she was visited by Shuriken who snuck out to see her, as well as Slingshot, who would later come to join him. The three of them remained close, with Vine Staff coming to see Slingshot as her sibling.

Eventually, the three of them left to live in Crossroads, which was infinitely safer for Vine Staff. She works as a cashier in Slingshot's café, Thieves' Rest, alongside Shuriken. Vine Staff became very self-sufficient during her time in Thieves' Den, being able to easily hold her own and provide for herself. She has a penchant for growing plants and crops, and is able to graft plants onto her wooden arm to assist in their growth.

She has a strained relationship with her Clan, and is wary of anyone who is affiliated with Darkage, such as her neighbor, Katana. She also hasn't spoken to her caretakers since she was spawned. Despite all of this, she longs to connect with other inphernals, but struggles due to her upbringing.[4]

coil lore

Coil was naturally spawned in Playground, and was soon picked up by a strange inphernal known as Wolf, who rescued him from the brink of death and raised him as her own; mentoring Coil and teaching him everything that he knows. Coil was spawned as Gravity Coil, but through experimentation, he was able to add three additional "modes" to his gear; that being a speed mode, a regeneration mode, and a highly dangerous "fusion" mode.

Coil is a well known thief in Craterdust Capital, having broke into and stole technology and energy crystals from the KORBLOX Administration. He typically gives some of these crystals out to the residents of Craterdust, taking the rest home to Wolf's abode to experiment with. It's thanks to these crystals—namely one lodged directly into his right horn—that his strength and abilities are boosted significantly, and he is able to, on rare occasions, enter fusion mode for extremely short periods of time. In fusion mode, Coil is able to dish out extreme amounts of damage, at the cost of expending a huge amount of energy, which knocks him unconscious shortly after entering this state. During fusion mode, the right side of Coil's face is encapsulated in a layer of ice-like crystal, which quickly melts after he falls unconscious. This leaves his right eye leaking water for a short time afterwards.

Coil is friends with inphernals such as Skateboard and Boombox, but he doesn't let anyone close and refuses to divulge his past to others. He is regularly seen at Thieves' Rest in Crossroads, where he loves to annoy the owner, Slingshot.

coil desc

Coil's design incorporates the vibrant and urban fashion of Playground inphernals combined with bolder elements, featuring contrasting orange and light blue as his signature colors. His horns start on his forehead and curve backward, before curving again in the opposite direction and tapering upward. His horns are two different colors: the left is orange, and the right is light blue. His right horn has a bright chunk of crystal embedded in it, forming cracks within the horn. He has a small band-aid across his face, accompanied by an expression that conveys an assertive demeanor.

He wears an orange hoodie with light blue drawstrings and a white Cerberus design on the back. The sleeves of his hoodie have been ripped off, leaving messy fabric where they were torn. He also wears slightly baggy gray pants with a light blue waistband and a pair of orange straps hanging on each side, connected by light blue buttons. The lower half of his pants features a light blue lightning pattern. Finally, he wears mismatched sneakers: orange on the left and blue on the right, both with white tips.

His arms are wrapped in bandages, with two blue metal bands worn around each one, and glowing coils of electricity encircling both arms. Glowing tubes are directly connected to his arms, starting from his fists and curving up toward the back of his shoulders.

Coil is an unserious person who typically acts only in his best interests. He will rarely take anything seriously, often teasing and messing with other inphernals in order to get a reaction out of them. He loves the feeling of schadenfreude that comes with seeing misery befall others, but would never seek to harm anyone himself. Despite his "devil-may-care" attitude, he is extremely intelligent, as evidenced by his experimentation on his own gear.

scythe desc

Scythe is a dark-skinned inphernal with teal spiked swept-back horns, going through her white cowboy hat with a teal Lost Temple insignia on the forest-green hatband directly on the front. The hat has an inline gold border topside on the rim. She wears an ornate scope consisting of three cyan lenses of different sizes over her right eye, supported by a gold band around her head. Her left, uncovered eye is glass. Around her neck, she wears a small, forest-green bandana.

She wears a fancy white suit jacket with two small gold buttons connected by a chain, with an inline gold border accent on the lapels following around a popped collar decorated with small gold spikes, paired with a teal shirt underneath and a forest-green necktie. She wears two-toned forest-green pants with diamond patterning and is held up with a forest-green belt in the belt loops with a gold buckle. She wears white Western-style boots with gold accents and gold spurs.

Her right arm is a prosthetic, with white plating around the forearm and upper arm decorated with gold accents. Black wiring connects the upper arm with the gold metal socket on her shoulder, while the elbow consists of a large, gold and black joint. The hand is made of black and gold plating. She wears a forest green glove on the left hand.

She wields her namesake laser scythe gear, modified into a hybrid with a submachine gun, with her right arm. It features a white body with gold grips and trigger and a black barrel jacket with a gold tip. A neon teal tube connects to a gray base on the butt of the gun, where the laser scythe's 'blade' is connected to. Near the butt of the gun are two gold wings with teal accents, connected by large black screws, which flip depending on its form. In Scythe form, the weapon rotates and extends to reveal a teal grip, while in Rifle form, a black rectangular ammo magazine is attached to the side

Scythe is a charismatic and silver-tongued individual who is led by her intense desire for vengeance.

scythe lore

Scythe was naturally spawned in Lost Temple, where she worked as an oziphrage wrangler alongside her significant other, Grappling Hook, and their group of other wranglers. Following the Scorch, the two of them split, and Scythe—who lost her right arm in the flames—left to join a newly formed extremist group, later known as The Church of the TRUE EYE.

Scythe is extremely loyal and dedicated to her family in the Church, and is willing to do absolutely anything to protect and serve them, no matter the cost. She works as a form of mob enforcer for the Church, being commanded by Father Overseer to take out anyone who has even the potential to speak out against the Church and Overseer's mission. Despite her blind enforcement of his word, she has complicated feelings regarding her leader and what he stands for. She is highly respected and loved by other members of the Church, being seen as an older sibling figure who others can bring their problems to.

Having lost her arm in the Scorch, Scythe has a mechanical prosthetic arm built by Medkit, which is powered by his energy crystals. Additionally, despite being spawned as Green Laser Scythe, her gear has been modified by Medkit to have an additional rifle mode, making her a formidable opponent to anyone who crosses her path. Her left eye is replaced by a glass eye, thanks to a practice done by members of the Church[5][6], and as a result she must wear a specialized scope on her right eye to account for her lack of depth perception. She was spawned with black horns, but paints them teal to show her devotion to her family.

Scythe has a deadly reputation within the Banland police force, and is constantly evading their capture. She is very close to The Broker, and is acquaintances with Medkit, who both work under her. She was once friends with Katana, when he was a part of the Church.

ban hammer desc

Ban Hammer wears a purple bandana covering his eyes and a set of heavy armor. His cuirass has a large glowing purple diamond in the center and grey indentations along the sides and down the middle. He boasts two large purple spikes on his pauldrons closely resembling his horns and two large purple gauntlets, also with spikes on the knuckles as well as two glowing circles-presumably bracings-for the plates on his forearms.

Ban Hammer wears greaves and sabatons decorated with purple diamonds and trimmings. His weapon is an oversized hammer inspired by the original Ban Hammer gear. The hammer has a large pommel on the bottom end, while the top end boasts a large hammer head with light grey bracings and small dark grey spikes.

Ban Hammer is, by all accounts, an egotistical and extroverted inphernal who loves showing off his superior abilities to others. He deems himself better than everyone else, and won't let anyone forget it. He has a particular enjoyment for the "thrill" of chasing after criminals and locking them up, revelling in the despair they feel when he corners them for good.[5] He prefers this sort of "hands-on" work as opposed to the administrative tasks that come with running a prison.[6]

Despite his boisterous nature, Ban Hammer prefers to keep to himself, and doesn't have many inphernals he can consider a friend.

ban hammer lore

Ban Hammer was unnaturally spawned at The Heights by Windforce, one of the seven deities of the Inpherno. Ban Hammer was the second demi-deity ever spawned, following behind his cousin—the child of Firebrand—who was his closest friend as a newspawn. Windforce raised Ban Hammer in her image, and the two share an extremely close bond, with Windforce being very proud of her child and his accomplishments.

Six years prior to the events of PHIGHTING!, Ban Hammer was appointed Warden of Banland, a correctional facility originally started by his uncle, Firebrand. Windforce first took the reins following Firebrand's disappearance, but passed it down to Ban Hammer, who took the job in stride. He oversees the main island of Banland, as well as smaller police forces stationed around Crossroads. He is hated by the general populace due to his tyrannical role as Warden and for being related to the Swords; despite this, he ultimately strives to make Crossroads a safer place for everyone, even if his methods may sometimes fall short.

Ban Hammer is incredibly strong in comparison to normal inphernals, possessing an indefinite lifespan, much like the deities before him, and he willingly blindfolds himself as a personal "challenge" to his strength. He has a set of wings similar to his caretaker, which he is able to summon and de-summon at will, as well as four eyes under his blindfold, with two on each side.

Ban Hammer does not align himself with any faction in the Inpherno, and prefers to keep to his own, leaving him with a distinct lack of other inphernals in his circle. Despite this, he has a strong one-sided rivalry with Scythe, a notorious and formidable criminal who has continued to evade his grasp.[4

He wears a red hoodie that transitions into a maroon gradient, the sleeves rolled up to his forearms. The hood is black. His hoodie has a skull with a sunglasses and halo printed on the front. Skateboard is a laidback, but playful and easily restless inphernal. He always needs to be moving, and is down to do just about anything he deems fun, lest he get bored. Though he can be flighty, he values his loved ones more than anything, and will put his life on the line to protect them

skateboard LORE

Skateboard was naturally spawned into the Splintered Skies territory, where he soon met Boombox, who became his only friend as a newspawn. Unlike Boombox, Skateboard wasn't accepted into Windforce's kingdom, and was later exiled and thrown off the floating island. Boombox followed suit, and the two of them landed in Craterdust Capital, becoming the best of friends in the process.

Skateboard now resides in Craterdust, and spends the majority of his days looking after the inphernals around him, often rescuing them from collapsing buildings due to the perilous architecture of the city they live in. Several of these rescued inphernals have gone on to become Skateboard's chosen family, whom he lives with. Despite these inphernals looking up to Skateboard, he doesn't consider himself much of a leader, but he strives to make Craterdust—and Playground as a whole—a safer place for his fellow inphernals to live.

Although Skateboard lives within the region of Playground, he considers himself to be factionless. He is close friends with Coil, and is friends with Slingshot.
