Shibusawa Tatsuhiko
One of the key antagonists of the story. In BEAST, he appears as a mysterious man associated with supernatural abilities and experiments.
Character: cold, calm, aloof and very mysterious.
Appearance: white hair, fair skin, elegant clothes; his image intentionally looks almost unnatural.
Ability: "Dragon's Head" - his ability is related to extracting and using the abilities of other people.
Role: One of the people behind the large-scale events taking place around Akutagawa and Atsushi.
🧥 Fyodor Dostoevsky
Fedor is one of the most dangerous and intelligent characters.
Character: extremely intelligent, cunning, calm and manipulative.
Appearance: pale skin, dark hair, purple eyes, long coat.
Ability: "Crime and Punishment."
Role: acts covertly and uses other people to achieve their own goals.
🕶️ Sakaguchi Ango
Government official and informant.
Character: serious, prudent, cautious.
Appearance: dark hair, glasses, business clothes.
Ability: "Discourse on Decadence" - allows him to obtain information about the past of objects or people.
Role: His knowledge and information are of great importance for the disclosure of events.

Akiko Yosano
A doctor at the Detective Agency. She maintains her strong character, confidence, and professionalism.
Junichiro Tanizaki
Member of the Detective Agency. Calmer than many other heroes, but involved in the events surrounding Akutagawa.
Naomi Tanizaki
Jun'ichiro's sister and also affiliated with the Detective Agency.
Ryunosuke / Akutagawa - the main difference
The most interesting thing about BEAST is that Akutagawa and Atsushi actually switch places:

Kyoka Izumi
In this reality, Kyoka is affiliated with the Port Mafia, not the Detective Agency.
She still has a calm, almost emotionless personality, but her interactions with Akutagawa and the other characters feel completely different.
Chuya Nakahara
An executive member of the Port Mafia and one of its most dangerous fighters.
His character in BEAST remains recognizable: hot-tempered, proud, straightforward, and very strong. He works under Dazai.
Sakunokosuke Oda
Oda is a member of the Armed Detective Agency.
This is especially important, as in the main story he was involved with the Port Mafia. In BEAST his role is changed, but he still remains a calm, friendly and principled man.
Doppo Kunikida
A member of the Detective Agency. He is the one who is supposed to monitor Akutagawa and see if he can become a full member of the agency.
Kunikida here is just as serious, organized, and principled.
Edgar Allan Poe / Rampo Edogawa
The film features Rampo Edgawa, a member of the Detective Agency. He retains his genius, self-confidence, and eccentricity.
Kenji Miyazawa
Also a member of the Detective Agency. As in the main story, he is very kind, sincere, and optimistic.

Ryunosuke Akutagawa
The main character of this version of the story.
He lives in the slums of Yokohama with his sister Gin. Ryunosuke is very strict, silent, and distrustful. Due to his difficult life, he is used to surviving on his own. His main goal is to find his sister and save her.
In BEAST, his path is very different from Akutagawa's usual: he becomes the person trying to get into the Armed Detective Agency.
Atsushi Nakajima
In this alternate reality, Atsushi is a high-ranking member of the Port Mafia known as the “White Reaper.” He is not at all the friendly and insecure guy we know from the main story.
Atsushi is colder, more dangerous, and very loyal to Dazai. He follows his orders without asking any questions. The confrontation between Akutagawa and Atsushi is one of the central moments.
In BEAST, Dazai is the boss of the Port Mafia. This is one of the biggest changes to the alternate universe.
He retains his usual mysteriousness, intelligence, and tendency to manipulate people, but his situation makes him much more serious. Dazai orchestrates events around Akutagawa and Atsushi and seems to know in advance how everything will end.
🌙 Ozagi Gin (mafia)
Ryunosuke's younger sister. She is very important to his story.
Gin remains quiet, reserved, and extremely capable. In BEAST, she is associated with the Port Mafia and Dazai. Her disappearance becomes the reason Akutagawa takes action.
