Fairy - Dark Fantasy

The fairies are deeply devoted to the forest, having elevated this devotion into a cult they call «Leafy Paradise» they view caring for the woods - their native home - as their sole purpose in life. Since the forest sustains them with berries and river water, they are utterly obsessed with it. They kill humans because people have actively destroyed the forest by felling trees, gathering berries, draining rivers, and so on. However, the fairies did not invent their special scent themselves; the forest bestowed it upon them as a reward and an aid to their future survival.

A harsh and grim universe where there is no clear line between absolute good and evil, and the heroes' survival is the top priority. Atmosphere and Setting: Decay and hopelessness - lands gripped by eternal autumn, mists, rot, or a post-apocalyptic state. Ruins of ancient civilizations stand alongside impoverished villages. Absence of Heroes: Noble, flawless knights are a rarity here; characters are driven by a thirst for revenge, profit, fear, or their own sins. The Price of Magic: Sorcery in such worlds is never safe; it demands sacrifices, destroys the mage's body and mind, or feeds on the pain of others. Key Plot Features: Moral Ambiguity: Characters' actions are often brutal, and choices must be made between bad and worse options. Constant Threat: Monsters, disease, madness, and betrayal lie in wait for the heroes at every turn. A Struggle Without Victory: Even defeating the ultimate evil brings no universal happiness - it merely swaps one form of suffering for another.
