Makarov came to despise his father's weakness, as well as the failures of the Soviet Union which had brought it about. He vowed not to make the same mistakes and so began his lifelong obsession. In 1998, Makarov joined the Russian military at the age of 18. A natural soldier with a talent for strategy, his reputation turned sour when he joined forces with an unsanctioned rogue army to maintain control of Urzikstan. When the Urzikstan Liberation Force rose and took back their home, Makarov experienced his first failure.Attack on Verdansk
Seeking justice for the actions made against him, Makarov joined Konni Group and plotted his first terrorist attack. On April 6, 2019, Makarov, alongside operators of the Inner Circle, who were disguised as police officers and paramedics, launched an attack in the Verdansk Stadium to attract Russia's attention, which prompted General Herschel Shepherd to send Captain John Price and Johnny "Soap" MacTavish to intervene and capture Makarov. He was later handed over to Russian authorities, who sentenced him to life in a maximum-security gulag.

During this time, he began to sport a skull mask similar to Ghost, but constructed from metal rather than bone. At an unspecified time, Mace was given Zulu-style scarification across a broad area of his upper body, in order to honor his South African heritage. Mace left his unit, after which he joined Phillip Graves' Shadow Company. Following multiple deployments and operations, where he became known for his "brutal and brash tactics", Mace decided to leave Shadow Company and travelled to Africa where he joined Viktor "Zane" Metiko's Jackals in their fight against Al-Qatala's influence in the Pan-African region, honing his craft in the slums of Soweto, South Africa. Mace also recruited Rozlin "Roze" Helms in the Jackals until 2020, when she joined Shadow Company in the midst of a war against Al-Qatala and Victor Zakhaev in the Kastovian city of Verdansk. By 2023, Mace continued to operate in Africa before warlords funded by Konni Group attacked a unit he had led, leaving him outgunned and outnumbered. With few options left, Mace accepted Graves' offer to return to Shadow Company, fight Konni directly and sever their link with the African warlords.

Following the war in Verdansk, Velikan served as a site commander and warden of the Shadow Company-occupied Defense Research Center's Building 21, until the Konni Group raided the compound and ousted him as well as other Shadow Company contractors in July 2023. Following Phillip Graves' re-emergence and Operation: Rogue Arsenal, Velikan would fight alongside Shadow Company, now affiliated with KorTac.
Personality: Velikan is an enigmatic, cold, and monstrously detached mercenary. His official bio refers to him as a "shadow of a shadow," with his exploits often written off as folklore. He is entirely mute during operations. He chooses to communicate solely through rare, deeply muffled, and menacing laughter or deep grunts. He acts as a highly trained assassin and an unyielding force on the battlefield, evoking intense fear or profound respect from those who work alongside him.Appearance: True to his name (which translates to "Giant" in Slavic languages), Velikan is a massive, heavily built individual. Biography: Graves enlisted into the United States Marine Corps and eventually became an operator in the elite MARSOC Raiders. However, at some point, Graves began to feel disillusioned with the military, thinking that the uniform he once proudly wore was limited and held back men like him.

After leaving the military, in 2017, Graves set up his own private military company, which he named Shadow Company. The company specialized in troop, air, and maritime deployment anywhere in the world, mainly employing former special operations members from around the globe; the most skilled of these employees, including "Lerch", were hand-picked and recruited by Graves himself.

In 2020, Graves and Shadow Company caught the attention of Allegiance, who were looking for assistance in the War Against Al-Qatala after the collapse of Armistice, subsequently, Shadow Company was hired by Allegiance to locate and capture Victor Zakhaev in Verdansk, even though they failed to do so, Shadow Company still remained in Verdansk to fight against Al-Qatala under Allegiance, loosely. Later, General Herschel Shepherd, impressed with Graves' abilities, began to contract Shadow Company tasking them with covert black ops missions around the world; most being in support of Task Force 141.

Biography: Nikto is a former undercover agent of the FSB. At one point he was captured and tortured by Victor Zakhaev, leading to his face becoming disfigured. He constantly wears a mask to hide his injuries. During the Invasion of Verdansk, Nikto worked with Kamarov and the Spetsnaz to recover an Al-Qatala chemical shipment outside of Faridah, Urzikstan, but was met with resistance from Warcom forces led by Mara under the command of General Lyons. Sometime later, Nikto joined forces with the CIA under the Armistice banner to help hunt down Zakhaev. Nikto became AWOL by October 2022, and was not seen until June 2023, when he was seen in Vondel following an attack on the city.
Appearance: The Ballistic Mask: His most defining characteristic is a stark, matte-black ballistic face mask secured by heavy-duty metal rivets and plates. This mask completely covers his head, revealing nothing except his piercing blue eyes and red sclera. Severe Disfigurement: Beneath the mask, Nikto's face is heavily scarred and brutally disfigured. The facial trauma is a physical reminder of the graphic torture he barely survived at the hands of the ultranationalist villain Victor Zakhaev (referred to in military files as "Mr. Z"). Biography: Becoming a Crime Boss
A former member of the Mexican Special Forces, Valeria Garza served in the RED team alongside Jesus "Chuy" Ordaz and worked with Alejandro Vargas' Los Vaqueros. In 2014[1], the RED team participated in a raid on the son of La Araña. Unbeknownst to Alejandro and Chuy, many members of the RED team, including Valeria, were enforcers for the La Araña Cartel. They turned against their former teammates and escorted the son of La Araña to the mountains before executing him. Valeria established the Las Almas Cartel shortly after under the name "El Sin Nombre", while posing as the second in command and chief enforcer of the cartel. In late 2022, Valeria made a deal with Hassan Zyani to transport him and several stolen ballistic missiles across the border. She provided him with Cartel forces as protection, though Hassan would soon be captured by Task Force 141 and Shadow Company. Task Force 141 would later send one of their operatives, Johnny "Soap" MacTavish, undercover alongside Alejandro to infiltrate El Sin Nombre's private mansion. Soap encountered Valeria, unaware of her real identity, and was interrogated by her. Later, Soap and Alejandro found out Valeria was El Sin Nombre, and proceeded to apprehend her with the assistance of Shadow Company and Mexican Special Forces. Under captivity, Valeria agreed to tell Task Force 141 the location of the missiles that she transported for Hassan, in exchange for her freedom and non-interference with her cartel's drug operations. However, this deal would eventually be broken when Herschel Shepherd ordered Shadow Company to eliminate all traces linking him back to the missiles, including Task Force 141 and Los Vaqueros. This led to Shadow Company killing many within Las Almas to eliminate Task Force 141 members and also capture Hassan.

Biography: Salvatrice Muselli's personal vendetta and knowledge of Italy's Camorra led her into joining the police. She became a member of the Carabinieri, including the anti-mafia and anti-drug task forces, where she earned a reputation of a fearless door-kicker willing to get her hands dirty to achieve the mission leading to several disciplinary actions against her. Going after the Camorra's heroin traffickers across Italy eventually pulled Muselli into the War on Drugs on a global scale. In order to attack Italy's drug problem at its source, the supplies, she volunteered to train foreign police forces in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Las Almas. By 2022, Muselli became a contractor for the KorTac private military company.

Rozlin had found her profession, or so she thought. It wasn't long before she severed ties with the U.S. Army Rangers. After severing ties with the military, Rozlin returned to support her family and her ailing father. She was periodically in contact with Mace, who had left the Army after abandoning his post in protest of combat orders he deemed illegal. Mace helped Roze gain entry in Viktor "Zane" Metiko's Jackals mercenary group. In 2020, Rozlin's received an offer from Commander Phillip Graves of Shadow Company, the offer was simple: Help restore order in Verdansk, Rozlin accepted Graves's offer and left the Jackals to join Shadow Company while remaining on cordial terms with Mace. When the Allegiance intercepted comms traffic attributed to Victor Zakhaev coming from the city stadium, Marcus "Lerch" Ortega and a small crew of Shadow Company operatives arrived in Verdansk as Roze was rigging the stadium roof. Once the roof was blown off, the team landed inside the stadium to hunt down Zakhaev. By 2022, Roze had cut off ties with Shadow Company and joined KorTac.
Appearance: Roze is physically fit, agile, and has an intensely sharp gaze, with her face model based on real-life actor April Nicol. In the original Modern Warfare (2019) and early Warzone eras, she became infamous for her ultra-tight, pitch-black tactical gear—particularly her "Rook" skin. Biography: Hiro Watanabe was born in a samurai clan that had turned to a life of crime after falling on hard times. By the time he was born, Watanabe's father was a well established criminal in the underworld. Growing up, his grandfather always reminded him that their family wasn’t always about this criminal enterprise and learned his family used to have a very high standing within the community and had a noble name. Instead of becoming a criminal, Watanabe ran away from his family and joined the military, eventually gaining the callsign "Oni". He was very proficient, quickly rising through the ranks and even earning a spot in an elite multi-national special forces unit with missions across the globe. In time, he returned home, eager to come back to Japan and protect and fight the threats on the home front, as his ancestors had done long before him. Not long after, Oni's father used his criminal influence to get his son dishonorably discharged out of the military. Oni was forced to become a mercenary and vowed to continue his fight against his father and clear his family's soiled name.
Appearance: Oni's visual design is centered entirely around a modern-day samurai silhouette. His most prominent feature is his tactical ballistic mask and helmet, which are shaped to mimic traditional Japanese samurai armor. After the raid on the Rammaza hospital in Urzikstan on October 28th, 2019 and the capture of Al-Qatala's leader Omar Sulaman by the Demon Dogs of the United States Marine Corps, Hutchinson felt a calling to serve his country and chose to enlist in the Marines. His physical strength and size as well as his athelticism made him standout in the Marines while his love for computers and technology led him to become a network and data specialist. After four years of active duty, Hutchinson became a reservist and called upon the Call of Duty Endowment to help him with his military transition. He soon found a career in cybersecurity. After the establishment of the Marine Corps Forces Cyberspace Command, Hutchinson quickly joined back the Marines to generate, preserve, deny, and project information on and off the battlefield. By 2022, Hutchinson became a contractor for the KorTac private military company.

Takacs spent most of his career in Joint Task Forces alongside American special forces teams in Iraq and the United Republic of Adal.
