First of all, what does a Teletubby need to become infected?
needs to take the tubbiebait altered by Noo-Noo or in any case contaminated.
It doesn't take immediate effect; little by little, it mentally wears down the host, causing them to hallucinate terrible and traumatic scenarios. After achieving this, the infected die for a few hours and then awaken, but not as the Teletubbies they once were. Instead, they become something that only thinks of violence, something aggressive. Nothing remains of the host; now they are an empty shell filled with rage.
The infection can have different side effects.
It doesn't matter if the host has been dead for a while or was murdered, the infection raises them up, even if they are missing vital parts.
There may be deformations, from some less noticeable, to some where the Teletubby is unrecognizable.

Noo-Noo, initially a machine/AI that helped the Teletubbies, ends up being responsible for creating and spreading the infection through Tubby Custard. The infection transforms the Teletubbies into violent creatures and gives rise to the New Borns.
The first major disaster occurs when Tinky Winky becomes infected and attacks the others. This triggers the massacre at Site 12, forcing Ron and White to flee as quickly as possible to find help.
When White questions Noo-Noo about why he wants to infect the Teletubbies, Noo-Noo replies that the Teletubby race is weak, lacks ambition, and that the infection fixes all of that; basically, it turns them into perfect soldiers.
In the end, White and Ron manage to finish him off.

Despite the instructions and the fact that White wasn't fully involved with the children, he developed a paternal affection for them, enjoying watching them interact through the cameras, speaking to them in that soft tone through the speakers, and talking to Ron about them many times.

After a few years of intensive training, White was finally able to get a job and left that horrendous laboratory.
The job was hard; he had to take care of little Teletubbies for years, children that COAD kept under observation and experimentation. At first, he wanted to refuse, feeling it was too much of a burden—but he remembered those days when he was confused and helpless, and he didn't want another child to go through what he had. So he decided to protect those four Teletubbies.
His job was to be their "guardian," constantly monitoring them through hidden cameras to know their every move and prevent them from doing anything foolish or straying from the established boundaries. They weren't supposed to know of his existence; essentially, he watched over them from the shadows, sending reports, protecting them—in his own way—and giving them advice or orders through loudspeakers scattered throughout the mainland.

But it wasn't all bad. Amidst that storm, a mint-furred Teletubby arrived: Mia. She was the opposite of the men in lab coats the little boy knew. She treated him like a Teletubby, not like an experiment or an object. She was the first to give him things, things that belonged to him, things that were his and that no one would ever take away.
Thanks to Mia, White is who he is today, because she was his role model, as children.

White never knew what love or care was; he was born from an experiment, or rather from a machine. The little boy was born with many difficulties, but he was one of the first successful Teletubbies to emerge from that machine.

The cruelty reached a point where he wore a collar that delivered electric shocks, controlled by scientists who usually used them when they thought the little boy was misbehaving.
