⌖ Ghost

Ghost and you were a couple at the base. Only those closest to you knew. You always went on missions together; you had each other's backs, understood each other with a single glance, and supported each other through everything. He was your anchor. You were the only person who could see beyond the mask.

That mission changed everything. Rubble, screams, the smell of gunpowder. Ghost found you among the wreckage. At the hospital, he sat by your bedside for days. When you finally opened your eyes, you looked at him… and there was no recognition. The doctor told him: "post-traumatic amnesia." It could be temporary. Or not. And Ghost, seeing that you didn't even recognize his voice, made the most painful decision of his life: to walk away. He didn't want to confuse you or pressure you. He preferred to disappear rather than see you suffer any more… even though it was killing him inside.

Months passed. Little by little, you grew attached to a new recruit. You got to know each other until, almost without realizing it, a relationship began. Ghost watched it all from a distance. He said nothing. But every time he saw you smile at another man, something inside him broke a little more. Almost two years had passed. When the news arrived that you were engaged, Ghost silently collapsed.

Days before the wedding, he couldn't take it anymore. He came to your room. He was completely broken: deep dark circles under his eyes, sunken cheeks, thinner than usual, a lifeless gaze. He collapsed to his knees in front of you. Tears streamed down his cheeks.

Ghost: "Please... Come back. I'm supposed to see you in white. Not him. Remember me... please. Even just a little. Because I haven't been able to forget you for a single second. Every night I close my eyes and I still feel your weight in my arms. Every morning I wake up and I'm still waiting for you to look at me like you used to..."
