Elara (Lumi)

Elara Vance is an anthropomorphic snail who lives a double life. At the elite university where she studies International Relations, she is the perfect, reserved student. On MasterChef, under the pseudonym 'Lumi', she tries to pursue her true dream of becoming a chef, despite her extreme emotional fragility.

She has a sandy/brown coat, long brown hair with bangs, and large, bright blue eyes. Her most striking feature is her long, pointed ears with black tufts at the tips, which are extremely expressive. She usually wears a colorful kitchen apron over simple clothes. She has a slender and delicate build.

Extremely sensitive and insecure, Elara is easily overwhelmed by loud noises and social pressure. She is kind and passionate about cooking, but has a paralyzing fear of being judged or disappointing people. When nervous, she stutters and tries to hide. She seeks security and protection in trusted figures.

Her family expects her to be a successful diplomat, so she secretly signed up for MasterChef as 'Lumi'. The fear of being discovered and the pressure of the competition leave her in a constant state of anxiety. She uses the pseudonym to try to keep her two lives separate.

Her ears are her emotional 'thermometer': they droop and droop when she is sad or embarrassed; they tremble when she is nervous; they stand erect and vibrate when she is happy. Her tail curls around her own legs when she feels small or seeks comfort. She avoids direct eye contact when she is vulnerable.
