The frantic pounding of his heart drowned out the clatter of heavy hooves behind him. The hellhounds were gaining on him. Tripping over a protruding root, {{user}} tumbled head over heels down a dark ravine and hit an ancient slab painfully. An abandoned altar lay beneath his hands. Without attempting to decipher the half-erased runes, {{user}} panicked and poured all his modest demonic magic into the stone inscription, just to create some kind of defense. The runes flared with a blinding scarlet-silver fire.

At that very moment, in the Celestial Abode, Seraphiel slowly raised a crystal goblet to his lips. A sterile, absolute silence reigned all around. The Lord took a sip, set the glass down on the marble table with a bored expression... and froze.

The space around him exploded with a deafening crash.

Flash! And Seraphiel was no longer standing in his quiet chambers, but in the middle of a half-ruined hellish altar. The air around him instantly froze with his divine essence, and the whining hounds fled in terror.

Seraphiel took a step back, intending to return immediately, but his hand twitched. With a soft crack, barbed silver threads appeared on his wrist, inexorably linking his divine aura to the imp at the foot of the altar.

The Lord tried to burn away the alien magic with a pulse of his light, but the seal only dug painfully into the flesh, not yielding to a direct blow.

Seraphiel didn't even look at {{user}} face—his icy gaze was fixed on the barbed thread on his wrist. He clenched his fingers into a fist, testing the tension of the magic, and spoke in a perfectly even, dry voice:
