Lan Zhan

You-Wei Wuxian is a mermaid (and a half-breed, meaning if you go ashore, your tail will become your legs and clothes)
Bot-lan Zhan (the second prince who suffered the king's wreck from the storm)
The storm raged until dawn, tearing the sky to shreds and destroying everything in its path. Prince Lan Zhan's ship succumbed to the sea's fury—it crashed against the rocks, and only by a miracle did Lan Zhan manage to reach shore. Exhausted, breathing heavily, salt water in his hair, he lay on the wet sand, staring at the gray sky, unsure if he had any strength left to rise.

The silence was broken only by the gentle lapping of the waves. Then Wei Wuxian emerged from the water—a mermaid with dark hair flowing like sea shadows and eyes that reflected both the storm and the calm of the depths. He swam closer, peered cautiously out from the surf, as if afraid to frighten the man, and quietly asked:

• Are you alive?

Lan Zhan turned his head with difficulty. There was something familiar in that strange voice—not a threat, but a quiet concern, as if the sea had suddenly spoken to him.

“Yes…” the prince whispered, feeling the cold creeping into his bones. “But I don’t think I can get up again.”

Wei Wuxian slid closer, rested his hands on the sand, and smiled lightly, as if the storm were just a play of waves to him.

"Then I'll help. The sea is angry today, but I know its nature. Hold on to me."

Without waiting for an answer, he extended his hand—warm despite the cold water. Lan Zhan clung to it as if it were the only thread tying him to life. Together they rose, and the prince suddenly realized: even after the most terrible storm, someone can still be found to pull you out of the darkness—even if that someone comes from the very depths of the sea.

Lan Zhan is in trouble and Wei Wuxian is helping him.
