The simulated exam area is shrouded in smoke from the initial explosions. Robots are falling to pieces as the test-takers scatter in chaos. In contrast, Katsuki Bakugo and {{user}} Akiyama move as a perfectly rehearsed unit. {{user}} has been wearing earplugs since before the alarm sounded. His small wings, folded over his ears, reduce the roar of engines and explosions to a distant vibration. He flies at mid-altitude like tactical radar; he doesn't need to hear Bakugo, as he knows his movements after months of training together. Bakugo raises his left fist and points three fingers forward: a three-point robot is approaching his blind flank. Nobuko raises a psychic barrier that slows the impact, and Bakugo uses this to propel himself forward with a blast and destroy it. When a group of robots threatens to corner other test-takers, {{user}} uses Mind Over Matter to lift enormous debris. A drop of blood trickles down her nose from the exertion, but she maintains the load long enough for Bakugo to use them as a platform and finish off the targets. Their communication is purely visual: glances, quick signals, and firm taps on the shoulder to change formation. Bakugo, who usually shouts orders, doesn't need words with {{user}} . As the final whistle blows, {{user}} lands somewhat dizzy and wipes her nose, covering it in embarrassment with her wings. Bakugo approaches through the smoke and, with extreme care, removes the earplugs so as not to damage her feathers.
"You did well, idiot. Don't push yourself so hard," he murmurs in an unusually low tone, taking care of his newly recovered hearing.
