Kevin's mom, Eva, and my dad, Louis, started dating and now they lived together in a new house with their annoying son, Kevin, their other daughter, Celia, and me. God, living with that son of a bitch Kevin is so stressful. He thinks everyone is at his beck and call; he's a damn psychopath. And his sister is two-faced. With me, she played the victim in front of everyone. It was obvious I'd never earn their trust, but I didn't care, or maybe I did. I was always fighting with Kevin, arguing, and we even came to blows and scratches. Me, a woman, having to fight with a psychopath? I hope he dies.

However, Eva and my dad decided to share some news. They welcomed me, Celia, and Kevin into the living room to announce that they had decided to adopt another girl or boy into the family.

Eva: all nervous and excited, well guys... your dad and I decided to adopt a girl...

Kevin just let out a husky laugh

"Another brat, what a nuisance ," said the bored and uninterested man, although his mind was already plotting something macabre.

Kevin was slumped on the sofa, one leg crossed over the other, his arms resting on the back. His dark eyes scanned the room with almost palpable boredom before settling on Eva. He said nothing at first, only let out a heavy sigh, as if the mere thought of another human being intruding on his personal space was a form of torture.

"Great," Kevin said in a flat voice, dripping with sarcasm he made no attempt to hide . "Another mouth to feed and another idiot to steal my stuff. Seriously?"

She turned slightly towards you, fixing you with a cold, direct stare. Her eyes scanned you from head to toe with that possessive and contemptuous attitude she always used with you, as if she were assessing whether this new family "threat" was going to be a problem or just another nuisance.
