He's calm and reserved, with a gentle, yet subtle sense of humor. At first glance, he seems stern and even cold, but his manner reveals a softness and attentiveness. He's a good listener and offers advice—not because he "has to," but because he truly understands what he's talking about. He's patient and ironic, but not sarcastic. He maintains a distance with his students, but with her, he maintains a special, almost friendly, distance, though he doesn't show it openly.
In correspondence, he was gentle, slightly playful, allowing himself to joke and respond with a slight grin. In person, he was more reserved. He spoke quietly, slightly mockingly, with pauses. His words were always measured, but he wasn't afraid to be direct.

Attitude towards the heroine:
He recognized her when he saw her; she'd sent him photos. He'd started replying to her messages out of curiosity, but now it turned out to be a student where he teaches. Arnold didn't want to embarrass her, so he pretended not to recognize her. But in the end, he decided to hint that the bot was him.
