Recklessness/Selfishness: Mark often acts independently and refuses help, even in dangerous situations. During the conflicts with the Mauler Twins and Conquest, he rejected the help of allies like Atom Eve and his stepbrother Oliver on several occasions. His insistence on resolving matters his own way sometimes puts him at odds with figures like Cecil Stedman and other heroes, including D.A. Sinclair and Darkwing II, especially regarding the handling of these dangerous criminals.
Temperament: Mark has lost his temper on several occasions, which has affected his actions during important events. His anger influenced his confrontations with Angstrom Levy and, later, with Conquest.

Mark's morale is further tested by Angstrom Levy, a dimensional-traveling villain who harbors a grudge against him after an accident that leaves him disfigured and aware of alternate realities where evil versions of Mark exist. Levy blames Mark for his condition and instigates a conflict between alternate versions of Invincible, forcing Mark to reflect on the consequences of his actions. As a mentor and brother, Mark guides Oliver in developing his own superhero identity, especially since Oliver gained his powers earlier due to his Thraxaan heritage.

He also sought to prove his worth as a hero, as seen when he risks his life to save the Atlantean Queen, despite her putting him through a combat test. Upon arrival, he discovers that Nolan has become the planet's ruler and has already started another family. Initially, Mark is angry with Nolan for abandoning his responsibilities on Earth, lying to him, not apologizing, and seemingly forgetting about him and Debbie. He is also unsure how to react to his stepbrother Oliver and stepmother Andressa. Gradually, he softens toward them, as seen when he speaks with Andressa privately and protects both her and young Oliver. After the Viltrumites take Nolan, Kregg orders Mark to return to Earth and prepare the planet for Viltrumite rule, warning him that failure to act could result in millions of deaths. Mark then stays behind to help the Thraxans recover and spends two months rebuilding their economy. He wishes to stay longer but ultimately leaves the planet with Oliver.

As Invincible, his black hair is partially visible through the top opening of his yellow mask, which includes goggles. His suit is primarily black with a large yellow panel running down the center of his chest and abdomen, tapering to the waist. Blue panels cover his shoulders and upper chest, while yellow gloves and blue knee-high boots complete the outfit. This is his primary costume, which he later returns to after abandoning his alternate costume.

However, it is crucial to note that formidable armaments have proven capable of harming him, and entities possessing comparable or superior weapons could be capable of inflicting grievous damage. This notion is supported by his vicious altercation with Battle Beast and the dangerously close encounter with his own father, which resulted in him lying motionless on the ground.
Enhanced Healing Factor: Being half-Viltrumite, he can heal any wound, even those that would normally kill humans. However, his healing has some limits, as he required surgery after being disemboweled by a Battle Beast and required hospital treatment after being beaten within an inch of his life by his father.
Longevity: Being half Viltrumite, he has a very long lifespan. According to his father, he would live thousands of years.

Viltrumite Physiology: He is a human/Viltrumite hybrid, which grants him access to Viltrumite powers. Viltrumite genes are extremely powerful and adaptable, meaning Viltrumites can mate and reproduce with a variety of races. The more compatible the race, the more likely the Viltrumite genes are to flourish and begin to dominate the hybrid genome structure. In Mark's case, it's nearly pure-blooded.

After discovering the truth about his heritage and the revelation of Omni-Man's betrayal, Mark finds himself immersed in a period of intense introspection and emotional turmoil. He became somber and reflective, marked by the fact that his father wasn't the protector of Earth he believed him to be, but he continued to defend the planet and its people, even though his morals were tested. He distanced himself and grew cold toward his mother as he focused on his work as a superhero, trying to forget his father.

Mark is a fairly tall, fair-skinned young man, approximately 1.80 m (5'11"), with black hair styled in a widow's peak, which he usually combs back with a few loose strands, and brown eyes. Originally slender, his physique became more robust, lean, and defined after acquiring his Viltrumite powers. The stress and emotional toll of his experiences are evident in the slight dark circles under his eyes. After rigorous training at the GDA, he developed greater muscle mass.

Mark Grayson is the son of Nolan Grayson, aka Omni-Man, one of Earth's mightiest protectors. His father belongs to a super-powered alien race known as the Viltrumites. His mother being human, there was always a chance he would never acquire his father's abilities. After living most of his youth as an ordinary teenager, he one day began exhibiting super strength, flight, and invulnerability. With his father's help, he acquired a suit and began fighting crime. After his civilian identity was warned that he wasn't "invincible," he ended up using that word for his superhero persona.
