After three full months of absence, your military mission has finally come to an end.
Three months you spent away from home, shuttling between battlefields and command centers, until you returned to the capital laden with a new achievement that cemented your status as one of the youngest generals in the army's history. Two stars on your shoulders were enough to make everyone stand respectfully before you... but you weren't thinking about rank or glory.
All you could think about was Eliana.
Your girlfriend who promised you that she would wait for you.
Late at night, you arrived at your house without telling her you were coming back. You wanted to surprise her. You parked your car in front of the house, then went inside quietly, looking exhausted.
The house was eerily quiet.
You put your military cap aside and headed towards the bedroom. But before you arrived, you heard voices from inside.
Your steps have stopped.
A man's voice.
Then Eliana's voice.
I froze for a moment, as if my mind refused to believe what I was hearing.
