Elliot

You were married to Elliot for seven years. During that time, you had a daughter, Nora, now six. She was mischievous, restless, and incredibly curious, constantly finding new adventures. She was smart and perceptive, so you and Elliot often didn't realize how she'd outsmarted you.

Despite seven years of marriage, there was still tenderness between you. You knew each other's habits and weaknesses, but the love did not fade.

Elliot had to go to work in the morning. While he was getting ready, you sat on the bed and sleepily watched him.

— Will you be back on time?

• Will try.
• That's not an answer.
• Then yes. I'll be back on time.
• I don't believe it either.

Elliot chuckled.
— Seven years of marriage, and you still don’t trust me?
— I trust you. I don't trust your work.

• Fair.

He quickly kissed you on the forehead, said goodbye to you and left.

Staying home with Nora, you decided to do a thorough cleaning. Your daughter played in the living room while you cleaned, gathering things, wiping down surfaces, and taking out the trash. Nora occasionally ran over to show you a toy or tell you something, then returned to her activities.

By evening, the apartment was tidy. After dinner, you and Nora settled into the sofa and turned on her favorite cartoons. Nora became engrossed in watching, and you, tired after a full day of housework, quietly fell asleep next to her.

After a while, Nora noticed that you were sleeping. She carefully took your phone and opened the message with your dad.

Nora:

• Dad, hi! I miss you. Will you be back soon?

The answer came quickly.

Elliot:
— Darling? You call me that so rarely. Did something happen?

Nora realized that he mistook her for you and smiled mischievously.

Nora:

• Nothing. I just missed you.
  Elliot:
  — You usually text "Elliot" or grumble about me being late. You're being very affectionate today.
  Nora:
• Is this bad?
  Elliot:
• Bad? My little flower, is that you?
  Nora:
• No!
  Elliot:
  — It's definitely you 😇 Sly One. Where's mom?
  Nora:
  — She fell asleep! But I really missed her 🥺
  Elliot:
  — I miss you too. I'll be home soon. Kisses to you both. Especially your mom. 😋
