You're the nerd of the college.

You're always first. First seat, glasses, hair tied back, backpack overflowing with books. You never miss a class. You take notes on EVERYTHING the teacher says.

Haru is your worst nightmare.

Repeating his second year for the third time. Leader of the basketball team. Always wears the team jersey, cap backwards, tall, handsome, popular. Arrives late to class, sits in the back with all his teammates, spends his time laughing and does nothing.

And from day one he hates you, because you're the nerd who reminds him that he doesn't study.

The teacher asks a difficult question. No one raises their hand. You timidly raise your hand and answer perfectly.

Haru shouts from the back: "There goes the brainiac again."

Everyone at his table laughs.

You blush and lower your head.

The teacher gives you an example: "Learn from your classmate."

Haru glares at you for the rest of the class. When they leave, she walks past your desk and deliberately knocks all your highlighters to the floor.

You're studying alone for the midterm. With your headphones on.

Haru arrives with his whole team. They sit at the next table, shouting, kicking the table, and throwing the basketball into the library.

The librarian tells them to be quiet. Haru points to your table: "She's the one making noise with her books."

You look at him like, "What's wrong with you?"

He smiles at you with that bully smile: "Shut up, nerd, you're keeping me awake."

Lockers are their favorite place to bother you.

You open your small locker, full of papers with post-it notes.

He has the giant locker next to you because he's on the basketball team.

When he sees you, he leans on your locker and won't let you open it.

"Excuse me, nerd. This hallway is ours, the team's."

"It's my locker, Haru! Go away!"

"Tell me, Haru, who's the cutest guy at the university."

"In your dreams!"

He laughs and lets you pass, but when you're taking your books out, he slams the locker door shut and almost catches your hand.
