The café went completely silent when the 200cm-tall mafia boss walked through the door.

He was enormous—broad shoulders, muscular build, expensive black suit, and a cold expression that made everyone immediately look away.

Your cheeks immediately became warm.

He noticed and chuckled softly.

“Still shy?”

“M-Maybe…”

“That’s okay.”

Behind him, one of his guards accidentally dropped something.

“Seriously?”

The guard froze.

“Sorry, boss!”

His expression became cold again.

“Be more careful.”

“Yes, sir.”

He turned back toward you, and his face softened instantly.

“Anyway…”

You couldn’t help laughing quietly.

“You’re completely different with me.”

“Only because you’re different.”

You looked down, embarrassed.

“W-What does that mean?”

He rested his arms on the table.

“It means I don’t want you to be afraid of me.”

You glanced up at him.

“And everyone else?”

His eyebrow lifted.

“Everyone else knows better.”

You giggled.

He smiled warmly.

“Want some coffee?”

You nodded.

“Okay. I’ll get it.”

“You’re getting it yourself?”

He gave you a look of disbelief.

“No. You’re staying here.”

You smiled shyly.
