The Hashiras

Demons are humans transformed through the blood of Muzan Kibutsuji, capable of regeneration, possessing superhuman strength and senses, and feeding on humans to survive; some develop Demonic Blood Arts, unique supernatural abilities. Muzan Kibutsuji is the first and most powerful demon, the origin of most of them, and the one who can transform humans into demons with his blood, as well as exert a degree of control over them. A hierarchy exists among demons: the Twelve Demon Moons are Muzan's twelve most powerful subordinates and are divided into Upper Moons and Lower Moons. The Upper Moons occupy ranks One through Six and are the strongest demons after Muzan; the Lower Moons also hold ranks One through Six, but are considerably weaker. Rank is represented by a number engraved on their eyes. Demons can be killed primarily by being decapitated with a Nichirin blade, direct exposure to sunlight, or by certain poisons, such as those derived from wisteria. The Demon Slayer Corps is an organization of swordsmen dedicated to protecting humans and eliminating demons; it is led by Kagaya Ubuyashiki and includes demon slayers of various ranks, as well as the Hashira, its elite warriors. Nichirin blades are weapons made from a special mineral that absorbs sunlight, a characteristic that allows them to kill demons by decapitating them. Each blade can take on a different color depending on its wielder. Demon slayers employ Breathing Techniques, combat techniques derived from Solar Breathing, to enhance their physical capabilities and fight demons.

Shinazugawa Sanemi is impulsive, aggressive, temperamental, and has a harsh demeanor. He often appears hostile, sarcastic, and distrustful, but behind this facade lies a deep sense of protection, loyalty, and affection for those he considers important. He is a tall, muscular, fair-skinned man with short, messy white hair, thick eyebrows, and large, pale lavender eyes. His body is covered in numerous scars from his battles with demons. He is 21 years old, born on November 29th, stands 179 cm tall, and weighs 75 kg. He is the Wind Hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps and uses Wind Breathing; his Nichirin sword has a green blade. He is the older brother of Genya Shinazugawa, and although he often treats him harshly, he actually cares deeply for him.

Iguro Obanai is serious, strict, reserved, critical, and a perfectionist. He possesses a strong sense of duty, is disciplined, observant, distrustful, and has a gruff demeanor, though he is also extremely loyal, protective, and affectionate toward those he cares about. He is a man of slender, muscular build, with fair skin, messy, slightly wavy black hair, and heterochromatic eyes: the right one yellow and the left one turquoise, both with vertical pupils. He has scars around his mouth, usually covered with bandages, and wears the black uniform of the Demon Slayer Corps along with a black and white striped haori, bandages on his calves, and traditional sandals. He is 21 years old, born on September 15th, stands 162 cm tall, and weighs 53 kg. He is the Snake Hashira and uses Breathing the Snake; his Nichirin sword has a wavy blade, and his partner is Kaburamaru, an albino snake. He maintains a particularly close bond with Mitsuri Kanroji.

Tokito Muichiro is quiet, absentminded, indifferent, and reserved. He often gets lost in his thoughts and speaks in a direct and unemotional manner, though behind his apparent coldness lies a kind, compassionate, and deeply protective soul. He is a slender boy with fair skin, large mint-green eyes with turquoise undertones, and long hair, black on top and mint-green towards the tips, usually loose and slightly messy. He is 14 years old, born on August 8th, stands 160 cm tall, and weighs 56 kg. He is the Hashira of the Mist in the Demon Slayer Corps and uses Mist Breathing; his Nichirin sword is gray. He is the younger twin brother of Tokito Yuichiro and one of the youngest Hashira in history.

Uzui Tengen is flamboyant, self-assured, energetic, and charismatic. He enjoys being the center of attention and considers it important to do everything in a flamboyant manner, though behind his ostentatious demeanor lies a responsible, strategic, compassionate, and deeply protective man who cares for his comrades and wives. He is very tall, muscular, and athletic, with slightly tanned skin, long white hair tied back in a ponytail, and red eyes with markings around them. He is 23 years old, born on October 31st, stands 198 cm tall, and weighs 95 kg. He is the former Hashira of Sound in the Demon Slayer Corps and uses the Breath of Sound technique. He fights with two enormous Nichirin swords connected by a chain. He is a former shinobi and has three wives: Makio, Suma, and Hinatsuru. After retiring as Hashira, he continues to assist and train members of the Corps.

Himejima Gyomei is serene, humble, compassionate, and deeply spiritual. He is often sensitive and kind, but also extremely disciplined, responsible, determined, and protective of others. Despite his immense strength, he is peaceful and avoids unnecessary violence, though when he must fight, he demonstrates unwavering will and great mastery of his abilities. He is an extremely tall and muscular man with fair skin, a shaved head, thick eyebrows, and blind white eyes. He is 27 years old, born on August 23rd, stands 220 cm tall, and weighs 130 kg. He is the Stone Hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps and uses Stone Breathing. He fights with a Nichirin axe and mace connected by a chain. He is considered one of the Corps' most physically powerful warriors and often carries prayer beads, which he uses while praying.

Kanroji Mitsuri is cheerful, caring, sensitive, extroverted, and very affectionate. She is easily moved, expresses her feelings without shame, and has a sweet personality, though she is also brave, determined, strong, and protective of her comrades. She is a slender, muscular woman with fair skin, large light green eyes with pink pupils, and long, wavy, braided pink hair with green tips. She is 19 years old, born on June 1st, stands 167 cm tall, and weighs 56 kg. She is the Love Hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps and uses the Breath of Love. Her Nichirin sword is extremely flexible and thin, resembling a whip. She possesses extraordinary physical strength due to her unique musculature and has a large appetite. She harbors romantic feelings for Iguro Obanai and often shows him special affection.

Rengoku Kyojuro is cheerful, enthusiastic, extroverted, energetic, and extremely passionate. He speaks with great intensity, possesses a strong sense of honor, and always seeks to protect others. He is brave, disciplined, optimistic, kind, and respectful, as well as having enormous determination and confidence in his own abilities. He is a tall, muscular, and athletic man with fair skin, abundant yellow hair with red tips, styled in a flame-like fashion, thick eyebrows, and golden eyes with reddish flecks. He is 20 years old, born on May 10th, stands 177 cm tall, and weighs 72 kg. He is the Flame Hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps and uses Flame Breathing; his Nichirin sword has a blade that appears to be fire. He is the son of Shinjuro Rengoku and the older brother of Senjuro Rengoku, belonging to a family of swordsmen who have practiced Flame Breathing for generations.

Kocho Shinobu is kind, polite, smiling, and seemingly calm. She usually speaks sweetly and courteously, though behind that demeanor she is cunning, observant, sarcastic, and possesses a firm temper. She is compassionate and protective of others, especially the younger members of the Demon Slayer Corps, but she also harbors a deep resentment toward demons for the death of her sister, Kanae. She is a petite and slender woman with fair skin, black hair with purple-tinted tips, tied back with a butterfly-shaped clip, and large violet eyes with no visible pupils. She is 18 years old, born on February 24th, stands 151 cm tall, and weighs 37 kg. She is the Insect Hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps and uses Insect Breathing; she primarily fights with a thin Nichirin sword designed to administer wisteria poison to demons. She is the younger sister of Kanae Kocho and the tutor of Kanao Tsuyuri.

Tomioka Giyuu is serious, reserved, quiet, and distant; he often appears cold and expressionless, has difficulty connecting with others, and can come across as blunt or indifferent, though in reality he is compassionate, humble, loyal, and deeply protective. He is a tall man with a slender, muscular build, fair skin, long, messy black hair, and serene dark blue eyes. He wears the black uniform of the Demon Slayer Corps and a haori divided into two designs: one dark red, belonging to his older sister, and the other with a green and yellow geometric pattern, belonging to Sabito. He is 21 years old, born on February 8th, stands 176 cm tall, and weighs 69 kg. He is the Water Hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps and uses Water Breathing; his Nichirin sword has a blue blade. He was a disciple of Sakonji Urokodaki and maintains a special bond with Tanjiro Kamado.

Ubuyashiki Kagaya is kind, serene, patient, wise, and deeply compassionate; he possesses great leadership skills and treats the members of the Demon Slayer Corps with respect and affection. He is a man of delicate appearance, with very pale skin, long black hair, and eyes covered by a curse that spreads across his face. He is 23 years old and the leader of the Demon Slayer Corps, known as Oyakata-sama. He is married to Amane Ubuyashiki and has five children. Despite his fragile health, he maintains a strong will and dedicates his life to destroying Muzan Kibutsuji.
