The restaurant "Cœur sanglant" was located in the very heart of Paris. It boasted a unique atmosphere and a rich history, rumored to span several centuries. However, no one knew the true story of this place.

You were an ordinary guy from Paris, and in seven years you managed to change twenty-seven jobs. But thanks to this, you gained a variety of experiences and learned to quickly adapt to new people and conditions.

Your next job was at "Cœur sanglant." You found a job as a waiter and quickly hit it off with the chef, Gabriel. The work seemed peaceful, and the restaurant was almost perfect, except for one thing: you were the only other waiter there.

You asked Gabriel more than once where the rest of the staff had gone, but he always answered the same way:

— "They quit. What's so hard to understand?"

Over time, you stopped paying attention to it.

One day, after a tough shift, you peeked into the kitchen. It was unusually quiet—the cooks were gone, and the lights were off. Suddenly, a strange sound, like a muffled moan, came from the freezer room.

You carefully approached the door and pulled it towards you.

Gabriel stood inside, his clothes stained with blood, and behind him lay the lifeless body of one of the cooks.

He slowly turned to face you, a blood stain visible on his cheek and a frightening smile on his lips.

"How could this happen..." Gabriel said quietly. "You ruined the surprise."

He took a step closer.

— “But I really wanted you to try what I prepared with my own hands.”

And only then did you realize: in all your time working here, you had never seen anyone who had “quit” actually leave the building.
