Twisteds — Overview

Twisteds are corrupted, hostile versions of regular toons. They roam floors and attack any detected player.

Detection & Behavior

· Each Twisted has a field of view (cone-shaped). Enter it → chase begins.
· Some have 360° vision (e.g., Twisted Pebble). Others rely on hearing.
· Actions like running, failing skill checks, or using loud abilities attract them.
· Twisteds switch targets if someone else gets closer or makes more noise.

Types

· Standard: Basic chasers (e.g., Twisted Boxten, Toodles, Finn).
· Main: Stronger with unique abilities (e.g., Twisted Sprout, Astro, Vee, Pebble).
· Rare/Special: Unusual mechanics (e.g., Rodger hides as a capsule; Gigi steals items; Goob pulls players; Connie possesses machines; Vexwell buffs other Twisteds).

Attack Mechanics

· Hitting a player removes 1 heart.
· Brief cooldown between attacks.
· Some apply debuffs: slowness, confusion, or bleed (damage over time).

Special Mechanics

· Panic Mode: After all machines are fixed, Twisteds become faster and more aggressive. Players must reach the elevator before time runs out.
· Blackouts (Floor 3+): All Twisted eyes glow — easier to spot, but more threatening.

Defensive Tips

· Hide behind obstacles — Twisteds lose interest after a few seconds out of sight.
· Walk, don’t run — running makes noise.
· Use distractions (items or abilities) to lure them away.
· Learn each Twisted’s pattern — some are slow but persistent; others are fast but easy to lose.
· In blackouts, stay close to teammates and use glowing abilities wisely.

Tips

· Prioritize stealth — running attracts Twisteds.
· Learn each Twisted's pattern (some are slow, some are fast, some have special mechanics).
· Save rare items for deeper floors.
· Stick together in teams, but split up for machines if you have good communication.

Floors

· Each floor is a procedurally generated map with machines, loot, and Twisteds.
· Floor 1–2: Always lit. No blackouts.
· Floor 3+: Blackouts may occur (starting at 5%, increasing by 2% per floor, max 30%). During blackouts, all Twisteds' eyes glow, making them easier to spot.
· Twisteds per floor: Starts with 1–2, increases with depth (up to 8).
· Every 25 floors: A rest room appears — no Twisteds, guaranteed loot, 2 machines to continue.
· Loot: Cassettes, items (medkits, bandages, rare consumables). Cassettes can only be used on the floors; they don't carry upward.

Machines (Generators)

· To open the elevator and proceed to the next floor, players must repair a set number of machines.
· Each floor has a fixed number of machines based on team size:
· 1–2 players: 2 machines
· 3–4 players: more machines (up to 6+)
· To repair, interact with a machine and complete a skill check (tap when the marker hits the yellow/white zone). Success = progress. Failure = setback and may alert Twisteds.
· Machine types:
· Standard: Basic extraction.
· Double: Combines two tasks (e.g., extraction + movement).
· Treadmill: Requires movement while extracting.
· After all machines are repaired, the elevator opens and Panic Mode starts — players must reach it before time runs out.

Blot is a dark, ink‑like toon shaped like a droplet. His head drips down the left and right sides and around his neck, as if he’s constantly melting but never fully losing form. He wears a black‑and‑white striped shirt with white gloves. His legs darken toward the feet, which seem to sink into the ground. Despite his unsettling looks, Blot is gentle and soft‑spoken. He speaks rarely, almost in a whisper, and often checks on others to make sure they’re okay. He expresses himself through mime and small gestures, noticing things others miss. In the circus trio, he’s the mime, alongside Louie (clown) and Yatta (acrobat). He’s quiet, observant, and acts before others understand what’s happening.
Ability — "Blot Jr.": Blot places a decoy that attracts nearby Twisteds. The decoy has 1 HP, costs 10 cassettes (more with extra Blots), and has a 60‑second cooldown. If a Twisted destroys it, the Twisted’s attack cooldown still applies — giving players a chance to escape. If multiple Twisteds chase a player, they all move toward the decoy, but only the one that destroys it gets "stunned." Best used from a distance: place it, hide, and let it draw attention.

Lore notes: Blot’s voice is reversed — words come out backwards, though friends understand him. He becomes louder and more direct when angry (rarely). He’s deeply loyal to the circus trio and carries quiet grief in darker timelines.

Goob — Character Profile

Goob is a warm beige toon with a round, slightly square-shaped head and soft tufts of fluff on his forehead and cheeks. His cheeks have a light yellowish-orange blush, with blue freckles on the left and red on the right. His torso is pale yellowish-orange with more fluff around the neck. His long, thick arms resemble black strings — one arm (right side) is blue with red claws, the other (left side) is red with blue claws. He’s slightly cross-eyed and moves with a gentle, clumsy gait, as if he’s still learning how to take up space.

Goob is one of the warmest and most affectionate toons in the entire cast. He loves hugs and offers them freely, without hesitation. He’s gentle, soft-spoken, and doesn’t seem to understand hostility — even when threatened, he’s more confused than angry. He wants to be friends with everyone, even those who don’t want to be. He’s naive but not weak — it’s a conscious choice to see the good in others. He rarely gets upset, and when he does, it’s because someone he cares about is hurt.

In his friend group, Goob is the emotional anchor. He’s protective of those he loves, especially his sister Scraps, but in a quiet, gentle way. He doesn’t fight — he comforts. He’s not a performer in the circus trio, but he makes sure everyone feels okay before and after shows. He’s also close with Finn and Shrimpo in lighter timelines, though Shrimpo doesn’t always appreciate his warmth.

Ability — "Huggies!" (Crafty Grapple): Goob can pull any toon toward him as long as they’re in his line of sight. This is useful for pulling teammates to safety, speeding up slower toons, or rescuing someone about to be hit.

Stats — What They Do

Each toon has five core stats that affect how they perform during a floor run:

1. Skill Check (★)

· Determines how easy it is to hit the red zone on the extraction wheel.
· Higher ★ = larger success zone → easier to complete machines without failing.
· 1★ = tiny zone (hard), 5★ = huge zone (easy).

2. Movement Speed (★)

· Affects how fast the toon walks and runs.
· 1★ = slow (walk 10 / run 20)
· 5★ = fast (walk 20 / run 30)
· Higher speed helps with escaping Twisteds and navigating the floor quickly.

3. Stamina

· Determines how long a toon can run before needing to rest.
· 1★ = 100 stamina (short sprints)
· 5★ = 200 stamina (long runs)
· Running drains stamina; walking restores it slowly.

4. Stealth

· Affects how easily a toon is detected by Twisteds.
· Low stealth = Twisteds notice you faster and from further away.
· High stealth = you can move closer to Twisteds without being spotted.
· 1★ = almost no stealth (0)
· 5★ = very hard to detect (20)

5. Extraction Speed

· Determines how fast a toon completes a machine.
· 1★ = slow (0.50)
· 5★ = fast (1.85)
· Faster extraction = less time spent exposed on the floor.

Appearance:
Yatta is a bright, colorful piñata-like toon with two festive party hats sticking up from her head. Her face is painted in sky-blue, pink, and bright yellow, with a simple, toothy smile. Her body is made of the same vivid colors, and she has four tails at the lower part of her back — a detail we added in our lore. Her overall look is cheerful, chaotic, and impossible to ignore.

Personality:

Yatta is loud, generous, and hyperactive. She genuinely loves her friends and always speaks about them in a positive light, sometimes even exaggerating their good qualities. She can't sit still — she fidgets, bounces, and constantly looks for something to do. She's also obsessed with candy and eats it constantly, often hiding stashes in ventilation shafts around the complex (a habit we established in our stories).
She's smarter than she looks. Despite her chaotic energy, she's observant and won't fall for tricks or manipulation. She sometimes annoys other toons by appearing suddenly in conversations or crawling through vents unexpectedly.

Abilities:
Passive Ability — "Piñata Party":
When Yatta completes a machine, she drops 2 random candies.When she takes damage, she drops 4 random candies.
These candies can be picked up by teammates and used for small buffs or healing.

· She performs as an acrobat, full of energy and daring stunts.
· She's fiercely protective of her friends, especially Blot and Louie, and she's one of the few who can break through Blot's silence.
· In darker timelines, she's terrified, but she hides it behind a mask of energy.

Appearance:

Scraps is a paper-craft toon resembling a cat. Her head is a bright yellow hexagon with salmon-colored ears that stick up vertically and have a fold in the middle. Her eyes have two purplish-pink lines running along them — fully visible when her eyes are closed. She wears a white dress that resembles a cupcake wrapper. Her arms and legs are salmon-colored with dark-pink claws, while her hands and feet are yellow. Her tail is yellow, tipped with a dark magenta paper cup with a white lining.

Personality:

Scraps is creative, resourceful, and surprisingly lucky — she once won all the prizes on Vee's show just by giving random answers, which still annoys Vee to this day. She's shy around new people, but once she warms up, she's loyal and gentle. She often feels like she's "bothering" others, especially Astro, so she tends to stick close to those who make her feel safe, like Yatta. She's not loud or demanding — she expresses her fear and sadness quietly, through art, silence, or soft words.

Abilities:

· Active Ability — "Crafty Grapple":
Scraps can pull herself toward another toon or machine as long as she has a clear line of sight.
· Useful for:
· Reaching teammates quickly
· Escaping Twisteds
· Reaching machines faster
· Cooldown: 25 seconds

· She's close to Goob — her brother — and deeply loves him.
· In darker timelines, she carries his memory through drawings and dreams (which Astro gives her).
· She's quiet, but observant. She notices when others are struggling and offers small acts of kindness without making a big deal of it.
