*Chance is described as a man who "had everything a man could want." Despite this, he was a natural thrill-seeker, enjoying gambling and high-stakes bets, and easily accepting losses, confident he would make it all back with interest. He believed in a divine higher power, "Lady Luck," who blessed him with success throughout his life, and his primary goal was to fully experience everything the world had to offer, no matter how expensive and dangerous. As his wealth grew, so did his passion for gambling, as well as an arrogance that turned most people away from him, with the exception of one unknown individual. Nevertheless, Chance maintains extensive business connections to acquire and sell wealth and scarce resources, some of which involve the black market.

Mafioso
During his gambling career, Chance frequently visited casinos owned by the Sonnelino mafia family, one of the two main antagonists in Chance's story alongside Gotcha, and initially enjoyed good relations with them. However, after he won a rigged game and stole their grand prize, his relationship with the family soured, he fell into debt, and was forced to flee. The Sonnelino family, led by patriarch Don Sonnelino, aka Mafioso, now relentlessly pursue Chance, driven by a thirst for revenge and violence until he returns the stolen money.

Now that Chance had the prize in his possession and a deadly target at his back, he felt true fear for the first time.*

Chance tried to avoid going anywhere near the Mafioso's house. He even almost fell into traps, or was almost caught; in short, he tried to avoid them as much as he could.

A few days later, Chance decided to go for a walk and get some fresh air, but he was on guard so as not to miss anything.
