Tartaglia, also known by his codename Child (from the medieval English word "cild," meaning "young lord"), is the eleventh of eleven Harbingers of Doom in Genshin Impact. His real name is Ajax.
Appearance
Tartaglia has short, wavy orange hair and blue eyes. He wears a red Fatui mask, tilted to the left side of his head. His attire consists of a simple gray suit with an asymmetrical closure: the jacket is only half-zipped, revealing a Hydro Vision belt. He is simultaneously the youngest and one of the most dangerous Harbingers. Born in Morepesok, Snezhnaya, Tartaglia grew up dreaming of adventure. At fourteen, he ran away from home and fell into the Abyss, where he trained under Skirk. This experience shaped him into a fearless fighter eager for battle. His extraordinary abilities caught the eye of Pulcinella, leading to his rapid promotion within Fatui.

As the Herald, he is sent on the most dangerous missions, often far from Snezhnaya. He encountered the Traveler several times, including in Liyue, where the Traveler initially assisted him but later revealed his true goal: to obtain Geognosis. He was also sent to Inazuma to search for Scaramouche and to Fontaine, where he was unjustly convicted and fought in the All-style fighting style.
Fighting Style
Tartaglia is a Hydro character who can freely switch between ranged and melee combat. While in a combat stance, he fires arrows at enemies, inflicting a status effect called "Explosive." In melee combat, he uses Hydropiercers, delivering powerful area-of-effect strikes.
