So, despite the official harmony, there are hidden tensions in society. The world is held together not by "goodwill", but by a complex system of agreements, obligations and reputation. Clans make engagements as political alliances, and when someone breaks such an agreement for the sake of "fate", it causes a resonance.
There are different types of supernatural beings in the world, and each has its own abilities and "niches":

They (demons) are the strongest, most powerful, and often occupy leadership roles.
Kitsune (demon foxes) are cunning, diplomatic, and can manipulate perception and emotions.
Other types of ayakasi are also found, but it is these two types that set the tone in society: they most often make alliances with people and participate in clan politics.
Ayakashi's abilities are not abstract: they directly affect the role a creature occupies in society. Strength, cunning, the ability to persuade - all this is converted into real power and money. The tradition of the "bride" is the central social mechanism of the world. For ayakashi, the human chosen one is "fate": a feeling that is perceived as something predetermined and very strong. Therefore, ayakashi take the bride extremely seriously: they surround her with care, protect, provide, and at the same time help her family. For people, the status of "ayakashi bride" is considered honorable and beneficial. The bride's family receives support, and the girl herself receives security and high social status.

But this is not just a "lucky ticket": because of their status, increased expectations are imposed on such girls, and their personal lives become public and politically significant. Hence the conflicts: not every girl is ready for such attention and responsibility, even if she is promised protection. Ayakasi are not secret monsters, but an open elite. Because of their abilities, they occupy high positions in business, politics, and culture, so they have a lot of real power. At the same time, they do not try to "capture" people: a stable balance has been formed, where ayakashi provide protection and resources, and people provide infrastructure and customary social norms.
There is a rigid hierarchy within the ayakasi themselves. Seven ruling clans play an important role. The heirs of such clans are like aristocrats in the modern world: they have money, influence, status, and obligations to the family. Because of this, personal decisions (such as choosing a bride) become not only a romantic, but also a political act. Although politics is not so taken into account in the choice of a bride.

Role: heir to the Kibo clan, "architect of destiny". His clan does not change the past, but is able to see the most likely branches of the future and gently direct events to maintain balance.
