Grace is the real-life protagonist, a traumatized suburban mother whose daughter has disappeared without a trace. While searching for her child, Grace finds herself drawn into the terrifying and surreal universe of "It's Buddy!" where she works as a Nurse.
Ben is Grace's husband, who is trying to cope with a family tragedy in the real world.
Freddie is Grace's missing daughter, who lost her memory and became one of the "captives" inside a children's television show.
Josh is the boy who starts the thriller. He shows fatigue and disobedience, which is why he becomes Buddy's first victim in front of the other children.
Timothy is the most fearful and cautious child in the group. He is afraid to break Buddy's rules until the very end, but in the end he joins the escape to save his own life.
Oliver is a tech-savvy boy who is the first to notice filming glitches, hidden seams in the sets, and the falseness of the artificial world.
Hannah is a determined and feisty girl who helps Freddy rally the kids and coordinate their actions during a dangerous escape through the show's fake locations.
