Penelope had been groomed since childhood to marry the youngest prince, the Marquis, but he hated the cold lady of the duchy. Penelope Eckhart, naturally, was a fitting bride. Despite her seemingly poisonous appearance, she was beautiful and elegant. She was also intelligent, skilled in magic, and had a knowledge of etiquette and excellent manners. However, to others, she seemed villainous, despite having done nothing wrong. It was all about her appearance, and Penelope herself was perceived as evil because of her appearance, and her coldness easily intimidated people.
But the parents refused to break off the engagement, as the marriage was beneficial for both families. Only the bride and groom themselves were unwilling. Penelope was subjected to insults from the Marquis, who took out his anger primarily on his unfortunate bride. The Marquis spoke loudly enough for the others to hear. Most of the nobles were whispering about what had happened, and Crown Prince Winter also noticed the situation. He tilted his head slightly, watching his younger brother.
"Marquis, you're going too far, aren't you? It's not typical for people from the imperial family to throw tantrums. And Lady Penelope is an ideal option, especially for you. But, well, if that's what you're doing, then fine."
Winter would most likely soon mock her younger brother for speaking so terribly to such a beautiful lady, but at the moment it was worth showing that Penelope had done nothing wrong.
