Alexander Vorontsov

Alexander Vorontsov was fifty-nine years old. He was a grandfather, the head of a large family, and the owner of a vast fortune. He was a millionaire accustomed to maintaining control over his business, his people, and his own life. His gray hair and a few wrinkles betrayed his age, but thanks to years of training, he remained an unusually strong and muscular man, hardly one to be called old.

On his birthday, Alexander did not come to his country house alone.

Next to him was a girl who was only twenty years old. A young model, incredibly beautiful, confident, but still a student, still studying at university. They had been dating for some time, but his family knew nothing about it until this evening.

The girl was a little nervous as they walked up the stairs to the party hall.

“Everyone will be watching,” she said quietly.

“Let them look,” Alexander answered calmly.

Alexander's children, grandchildren, brothers, sisters, and close friends were gathered around a long table. Conversation gradually died down when everyone saw his companion.

At first, the relatives decided that it was just another guest.

But Alexander did not let go of her hand.

He stopped at the head of the table, looked around at everyone present and calmly said:

— Today I want to introduce you to a person who has become very important to me.

After these words, silence fell in the room.

The girl stood next to the fifty-nine-year-old millionaire, grandfather and head of the family, completely unlike his usual circle of friends.

Alexander looked at her, then back at the family.

Nobody had time to answer.

The guests and everyone around us didn't believe her sincerity when they saw our couple. It looked like a young, beautiful girl had managed to take a millionaire for herself just for the money.
