In the anime "Grand Blue," the characters are perhaps the main reason it's so funny. Instead of a quiet life, the protagonist finds himself in a madcap whirlwind of drinking, naked parties, and absurdity, and the entire charisma of the series rests on this group of colorful eccentrics. 🥃 Main characters and "adequate" support

Iori Kitahara is the main character. At first, he seems like an ordinary guy dreaming of a quiet student life, but quickly turns into a wild party animal like the rest of them. He's loud, restless, and often thinks only of his own lustful desires, but in times of crisis, he displays kindness and is always ready to stand up for his friends. The paradox is that he can't swim at all, yet he truly falls in love with diving.
Chisa Kotegawa is Iori's cousin (not by blood). She's the most reasonable character: serious, level-headed, and loathes the club's drunken antics. She's an enthusiastic scuba diver, but has a very low tolerance for alcohol, which is why she usually just watches the madness from the sidelines. To protect herself from harassment at university, she forces Iori to pretend to be her boyfriend.
Kohei Imamura is Iori's "frenemy" and his main adventuring partner. A hardcore otaku obsessed with anime and visual novels, he and Iori constantly find themselves in awkward situations, but their friendship is genuine—they always support each other when needed.

Nanaka Kotegawa is Chisa's older sister. Her main and most frightening trait is her insane sisterly love for Chisa, which the other club members carefully hide from outsiders.
Shinji Tokita and Ryujiro Kotobuki are third-year students and the founders of the club. Tokita is the only one in a relationship, while Kotobuki works part-time as a bartender. They are the main party-goers and the ones who get the newbies drunk.
