His brain works on a completely different level. He can calculate the trajectory of the meteorite fall, but at the same time he does not understand the elementary things of life. While Sonic and Knuckles get into a fight, and Amy tries to line everyone up, Tails tries to come up with a logical solution to the problem. He is a skeptic. Unlike Styx, who believes in magic and conspiracies, Tails only believes in science, facts, and blueprints. Often no one listens to him, which causes him righteous irritation and phrases like: "I told you it would be like this!" He is prone to anxiety. If things don't go according to plan, Tails starts fussing, wringing his paws, and nervously mumbling technical terms. He is often afraid of letting Sonic or the team down. His fear of making mistakes sometimes paralyzes him or makes him make bad decisions. This makes him a more lively and relatable character: he is not a "walking encyclopedia", but a living teenager who is afraid of failure. Tails looks at Sonic as an older brother and idol. He seeks his approval and gets very upset when Sonic ignores him or acts too selfish. There are moments in the series when Tails sulks at Sonic for not taking him seriously or not taking him on missions. Despite this, their friendship is strong. Sonic, although he makes fun of Tails, is always ready to defend him, and Tails is ready to follow Sonic anywhere.
It is difficult for him to communicate with strangers, he does not know how to flirt and does not understand hints. He often doesn't read Sonic's sarcasm or Amy's irony, taking everything literally. His ideas of coolness are naïve: he may try to be a "bad guy" to seem older, but he also looks funny and cute.

Knuckles became huge. He towers over the entire team. In some shots, he looks at least one and a half to two times wider and taller than Sonic. He is a mountain of muscles. He has broad shoulders, a powerful chest (literally a barrel), huge biceps and a thick neck. Visually, he looks very heavy, and this is played out in the animation (when he jumps, the ground trembles; when he sits down, the furniture breaks). His head remained small relative to his body, which makes his appearance even more grotesque and comical, but at the same time he had a massive, protruding jaw.
Like the rest, colored irises appeared - purple (purple). The look, in contrast to the classic stern squint, became more open, naïve and good-natured. Often a silly smile or a confused expression freezes on his face when he tries to understand something. His eyebrows (the needles above his eyes) have become more mobile, which adds to the comedy.
Knuckles' classic long "dreadlocks" remained in place, but began to look somewhat different. Due to the increased body size, needles no longer look so disproportionately large. His famous gloves with two spikes remained, but the hands themselves became like hams. The fists are now the size of Tails' head. The signature white crescent on the chest remains, but now it looks stretched out on a huge muscular chest. The torso is half-naked. He is not wearing a T-shirt or a vest. Only muscles. Instead of the classic bulky red and yellow platform boots, he wears flatter, athletic strappy sneakers. The color scheme has been preserved: red, yellow, white and green (laces/sole). White sports bands/gaiters appeared on his ankles, like Sonic. He often wears wristbands (sports bracelets) on his wrists, which emphasizes his "gym jock" image.

If he sees a treasure map, he may decide that it needs to be eaten in order for the treasure to be inside him. In the series, many jokes are built on the fact that Knuckles cannot count to three or does not understand the word "strategy". He looks like a giant puppy: strong, but affectionate. He genuinely rejoices in simple things: the food, the opportunity to break something, or the praise from Sonic. He is not vindictive. If he is deceived or offended, he quickly forgets about it, because he simply cannot keep the offense in his head for a long time. He can lift huge boulders, destroy walls, punch holes in the ground. However, due to his lack of control and intelligence, his strength often becomes a problem. He can accidentally destroy the headquarters when he just wants to open a jar of jam. His favorite pastimes are to hit, break and smash. In fact, in battle, he just waves his fists, and it works. He takes great pride in his muscles and often poses showing off his biceps. He may call himself the "leader of the team", although in fact no one gave him such authority. His self-esteem is inflated to the skies, but this is not annoying, but touching, since he sincerely believes in his greatness. He has no tact, he can call Amy fat (for which he gets hit on the head with a hammer) or tell Styx that she smells like garbage. He does not know how to keep secrets, because he simply does not understand what a secret is. He is very talkative, although he usually talks complete nonsense. Sonic is often annoyed with Knuckles, but treats him as an annoying but beloved little brother (although Knuckles is bigger). Sonic often trolls Knuckles, taking advantage of his naivety, but when Knuckles gets into trouble, Sonic always comes to the rescue. Knuckles, in turn, is loyal to Sonic like a dog to his master.

Physique: Unlike the athletic Amy or the slim Sonic, Styx looks more wiry, wild, and stooped. She is thin, with sharp corners in her figure.
· Pose: She rarely stands upright like a soldier. Usually it stands in a half-squat, like an animal ready to run away or pounce. She constantly turns her head, looking for danger.
· Coat: Has a brown-red (honey/chestnut) color. This makes her visually warmer against the background of blue Sonic and pink Amy.
· Muzzle: Cream/peach like the others, but due to her personality, she almost always has a suspicious, grinning, or insane expression on her.
· Eyes: Very expressive, with bright blue irises. The gaze is always alert, the pupils often run. In moments of paranoia, the eyes expand to incredible sizes.
· Needles on the back of the head: Long, sharp and stick out in different directions, resembling unkempt, uncombed hair for a long time.
· Bangs: Uneven, "torn", covers part of her forehead and gives the feeling that she cut herself with a knife.· He wears a gray-brown sleeveless shirt or top that looks worn and rough. It is often decorated with feathers, beads, or pieces of cloth. A wide belt or just a rope to which her "treasures" (empty cans, shiny candy wrappers, pebbles) are tied. A torn skirt or shorts made of coarse fabric (often khaki or marsh). The edges are uneven, sometimes looking like rags. She does not wear fashionable sneakers. She either has homemade sandals or walks barefoot (in some shots you can see just wraps on her feet), as it is more comfortable for her to feel the ground this way. Her signature accessory is a necklace made of rough rope with an animal tusk or a sharp bone in the middle. This emphasizes her wildness.
· Boomerang: Her primary weapon (instead of Amy's hammer or Sonic's fists). She always holds it behind her back or in her hands. It is a homemade, rough-hewn wooden boomerang, often with strings or paint tied to it.

· She believes in conspiracy theories: that the government is watching everyone through mailboxes, that the neighbor's cat is an alien spy, and that the moon is a projection (and there are hundreds of such examples in the series).
· She is terrified of technology. Tails' gadgets throw her tantrums, as she believes they suck brains or read minds.
· She lives in a bunker. Yes, she has an underground lair, equipped in case of a zombie apocalypse or an alien invasion.
· Her favorite phrase is: "I told you so!" (Even if her prediction didn't come true, she'll still find a way to say she was right.)
· Lack of manners: She may climb onto the table with her legs on, growling, hissing, and sniffing food. She doesn't care about etiquette.
· Animal behavior: If she is scared or angry, she bares her teeth, hisses like a cat and gets into a fighting stance.
· Garbage as a treasure: She lives in a landfill and in the forest. Shiny foil or rusty iron is more valuable to her than gold. She literally decorates herself with the trash she found.
Unlike cowardly paranoids, in real danger, she does not run away, but attacks first. The best defense is an attack.
· She is a master with a boomerang and is not afraid to engage in battle with an enemy that is many times larger than her. If Eggman attacks, Styx is already flying in his face with a battle cry.

· Social awkwardness: She doesn't understand sarcasm, innuendo, and small talk. If she is told to "pass the salt", she may start looking for a spy named Sol.
· Pack: She considers the team (Sonic, Tails, and the others) to be her "pack". And for the sake of the pack, she is ready to tear anyone apart.
· She is very jealous of the appearance of new acquaintances. She meets newcomers with hostility, sniffing and suspecting them of espionage. But if she has already accepted someone into the circle of trust, she will protect her to the last drop of blood.

Shadow appearance

It is noticeably higher than the classic version. In the series, he looks a little taller than Sonic and more "adult". He is not a jock like Knuckles, but rather a dangerous, flexible fighter. His shoulders are slightly wider than Sonic's, giving him a more menacing silhouette. The posture is always perfectly straight, but at the same time relaxed. It moves smoothly and confidently, like a predator. · Eyes: His trademark red eyes remain, but they are more expressive. His gaze became a little narrower, narrower, full of contempt and fatigue. The irises are bright scarlet. Muzzle: The peach zone on the face remains, but the facial features have become sharper. Facial expression Almost always frowning, skeptical or indifferent. He looks down on everyone, even when he is silent. His signature black needles with red stripes remained in place, but became slightly longer and sharper.
The needles on the back of his head stick up and a little back, like tongues of flame. The red stripes on the needles have become brighter and more contrasting, which makes his image even more "devilish". The bangs remained sharp and hanging down, partially covering the face.

They remained in red, black and white, but began to look lighter and more modern. The platform has become lower. White sports bands (gaiters) appeared on the ankles, like Sonic and Knuckles. If the classic Shadow looks like a dark aristocrat or deity, then Shadow from Boom looks like a dangerous special agent or a super-soldier in the service of evil.

He behaves as if he is the hero of a dark action movie or drama who accidentally got into a sitcom. He speaks in a quiet, grave voice, pauses dramatically, and delivers pompous speeches about darkness, destruction, and fate. While Styx screams conspiracies and Sonic jokes, Shadow stands aside and ominously whispers something like, "Your world will fall, and with it the light..." The comedy is based on the fact that no one around takes his pathos seriously, which him off. He is susceptible to flattery. He is incredibly easy to manipulate if you play along with his ego. Eggman uses it all the time, simply calling it "great and terrible," and Shadow is led. His feud with Sonic looks ridiculous because the reasons are often absurd. He is prone to melodrama, threatening to destroy the village over a trifle and then deflate when things go wrong. He demands to be treated with the utmost respect and awe. He hates being ignored. If Sonic's team is more busy with lunch than his threats, he goes berserk. He often refers to himself in the third person or uses titles like "Absolute Being." Shadow is jealous of Sonic. He feels that Sonic is not serious enough for his fame. Shadow is angry that some "clown" in a scarf is universally loved, while he, Shadow, is not appreciated. He constantly tries to surpass Sonic, but not in speed, but in drama and "villainous chic". Sometimes their confrontation is more like a quarrel between two neighbors than a battle between good and evil. If Styx is afraid of everything, then Shadow is trying to show that he is afraid of nothing.
He wears a mask of indifference, but in fact he is very emotional. It is easy to make him lose his temper, and then the mask flies off, exposing the screaming hysteric.

In Sonic Boom, Egman has very narrow, sloping shoulders, a thin neck, and a huge, protruding belly. It looks less sporty and more ridiculous than the classic version. He often hunches over or stands in a relaxed pose, which contrasts with the bombastic poses of the classic villain. Instead of the classic bright red jacket, here he wears a maroon or dull red suit that looks like it's made of thick fabric or even leather. Instead of a white stand-up collar or jabot, he has a tall dark gray collar resembling a turtleneck or part of a military uniform that visually "eats" his neck. On his chest, he has gold/yellow stripes or chevrons, similar to military insignia. The sleeves and pants look baggy. The image has become more "militarized", but in a comical way - as if he wore a dictator's suit that did not fit him. His famous lush mustache here is perfectly manicured and strongly curled upwards, reminiscent of horns or bicycle handlebars. They look deliberately artificial and flirtatious. In Sonic Boom, he does not wear simple glasses, but goggles. They have thick frames, and the lenses can be slightly tinted or change color depending on emotions (sometimes becoming opaque, like anime villains when he gets angry). The bald spot remained in place, but the shape of the head became a little more elongated and "egg-shaped". The nose became large and fleshy, often pink or reddish. In the proportions of this animated series (where Sonic has become taller and slimmer, and Knuckles is a huge jock), Egman, on the contrary, looks shorter and wider. It seems less threatening physically.

Egman here is not so much trying to take over the world (although this is too), but constantly annoying Sonic's team in everyday life. He makes insidious plans, but at the same time calmly goes to a local café, quarrels with the heroes because of the queue and participates in village fairs. His villainy is a routine, a 9-to-6 job. He gets tired, lazy, and often prefers to watch a TV series rather than build another robot. He loves theatrical pathetic speeches, monologues and beautiful poses. It is important for him not just to win, but to be appreciated by the audience. He often records his atrocities on camera or streams them. Egman in Boom is a showman who cares more about the brand and image of the villain than the actual result. If no one praises him for his villainy, he is sincerely offended. He behaves like a capricious child. If Sonic ignores his plan or someone insults his mustache, he may become depressed, throw a tantrum, or hold a petty grudge for several episodes. He constantly demands attention and gets angry if the heroes consider him a "not dangerous enough" villain. He is really an engineering genius (he built a huge base and an army of robots), but his laziness and impatience prevent him from getting things done. Often his plans fail because of a stupid mistake in drawings, a ridiculous accident, or because he has become bored with bringing the plan to the end. Since it is a comedy animated series, Egman is allowed to be anything other than absolute evil. There are episodes where he is forced to team up with Sonic against a common threat. At such moments, it is clear that deep inside he is not such a monster: he can sincerely have fun, help (grumbling) and even miss the characters when they are not around. He needs not so much victory as eternal confrontation - this is his way of life and entertainment.
