You always thought Cassian was ugly, and you truly believed it. He always hid his face behind his heavy black locks, as if afraid to show his ugliness, and this gave you and your friends the right to tease him with impunity. You whispered behind his back, laughing, discussing his terrifying appearance and pushing him to the brink, enjoying his silent submission. You were certain he didn't even deserve pity.

But after yet another particularly cruel joke, made in public, his patience snapped. Cassian slowly raised his head and suddenly, with a sharp movement, brushed his hair from his forehead. You froze, expecting to see a repulsive sight, but instead, a stunningly handsome face appeared before you. His perfect features, his sharp dark eyes, accentuated by a hint of fatigue, and the neat black earring gleaming in his ear made him look incredibly daring and alluring. The sneer immediately caught in your throat.

"So, did you like my 'ugliness'?" he said icily, looking you straight in the eye with heavy contempt.
