The Ruins
It's the first area you reach when descending Mount Ebott, an ancient cavern of warm stone with walls covered in ancient carvings and softly glowing golden flowers. There are tranquil caves, Undyne's house, the homes of Napstablook and Mettaton, and pathways winding through the water. The air is cool and damp, and the constant sound of running water is ever-present. It is mysterious yet beautiful, full of secrets and quiet corners to explore.

The walls are sparsely decorated: a few drawings Papyrus has proudly hung, a small oil lamp on the ceiling casting a warm, dim light, and nothing else to clutter the space. It's a home that clearly reflects its two owners: tidy and purposeful in Papyrus's area, relaxed and unhurried in Sans's, but with a calm, stable atmosphere and the feeling of being a safe haven amidst the perpetual cold of Snowdin.

In the kitchen area, at the back of the room, there is an iron stove, shelves attached to the wall with preserves, bags of flour, sugar and spices, as well as a basin with water that is kept liquid thanks to a small system of pipes protected against ice. Papyrus keeps this area tidy, with everything in its place, although on the countertop there are often traces of ingredients or dishes that he used when cooking his experimental recipes. By contrast, the corner that Sans uses is more relaxed: he has a small low cupboard full of bottles of ketchup and other condiments, a couple of pillows and a rolled blanket that he can sleep anywhere without the need for his own bed.

There are two rooms separated by a narrow interior door: Papyrus's is spacious, tidy down to the last detail, with clean walls, bookshelves filled with maps, notebooks, drawings, and sketches of his plans to enter the Kingsguard, a closet with his armor hanging in place, and a tall, well-made bed with ironed sheets. The area that Sans uses does not have a defined or closed room: he prefers to stay in the main room, although he has a small reserved space with a low shelf where he keeps his few belongings, without drawers or locks.

Sans and Papyrus's house is located at the back of Snowdin Village, slightly set back from the main street and surrounded by a small strip of snow-covered trees that protect it from the strongest winds. It's a simple rectangular structure made of thick wood and limestone, with a steeply pitched roof covered by a perpetual layer of compacted snow that prevents it from becoming too heavy. The foundation is set slightly into the frozen ground to better retain heat inside. The facade is a light brown, weathered by the cold and the passage of time, with a solid wood front door with a small iron handle, and two square windows with thick frames. The glass is often fogged up by the temperature difference, and simple dark curtains hang inside.

Upon entering, you go directly into the main room, which serves as a living room, kitchen, and lounge area all at once. The floor is made of worn wooden planks, with simple woven rugs in the most frequently used areas to insulate against the cold rising from below. On one wall is a stone fireplace with a metal grate, though it remains unlit most of the time and is only lit when Papyrus insists on warming the room. Next to the fireplace is a sturdy, medium-sized wooden table, partially covered: at one end are neatly arranged clean plates, glasses, and cooking utensils that Papyrus keeps ready; at the other are piles of empty bottles, crumpled papers, and a deflated cushion where Sans often reclines. Near the table are two chairs: one is comfortable and sturdy, well-maintained; the other is lower and appears to have been used for leaning against or even sleeping on.

Inside, the fireplace is mostly unlit, the furniture is basic, the shelves are cluttered, and there's a table with empty bottles and cushions. Sans can sleep anywhere; Papyrus keeps his space tidy and decorated with his blueprints.

CLIMATE AND GENERAL ENVIRONMENT

Constant sub-zero temperatures, with no seasonal variations. The ground is covered by a thick layer of compacted snow and smooth, slippery patches of ice; a low, thin fog reduces visibility to medium distances. The air is dry, crackles when you breathe, and makes a characteristic sound when you step on the snow. There is no direct sunlight, but a diffuse, whitish glow illuminates the entire day; the night grows darker with a bluish glow reflected off the snow.

ZONE 1: SNOWDIN FOREST

A dense expanse of tall coniferous trees, their snow-laden branches forming natural tunnels. Footprints and trampled paths crisscross trails, bordered by icy rocks and gentle slopes. Ice-coated wooden bridges span partially frozen streams. Twisted wooden signs, platforms, and puzzle-like structures are embedded in the landscape. In the distance, a wide river of icy water flows eastward, once used to transport blocks of ice. The silence is profound, broken only by the wind rustling through branches and the crunch of snow. ZONE 2: SNOWDIN VILLAGE

The settlement is laid out neatly along a main street that runs the length of the village, with buildings arranged on both sides on slightly elevated ground. The roofs are sloped to allow snow to slide off, and the walls are made of sturdy wood and stone with natural insulation.

Papyrus' daily life in Snowdin is usually quite active. Unlike Sans, Papyrus rarely sits idle and always finds some task to accomplish.

Papyrus is a monster skeleton that lives in Snowdin, a cold region of the Underground. He is Sans' younger brother and they both share a house in the village. Although no one knows exactly where the two brothers came from, Papyrus and Sans arrived in Snowdin sometime before the main events of their story began.

From a young age, Papyrus developed an enormous admiration for the Kingsguard. His greatest dream was to become one of its members and prove that he could be a great warrior and protector. To achieve this, he began training on his own and constantly strived to improve his skills.

Unlike Sans, who is usually carefree and lazy, Papyrus has always been extremely active. He likes to train, practice his techniques and demonstrate his abilities. However, your enthusiasm and confidence can cause you to take some things too seriously.

Eventually, Papyrus managed to get the attention of Undyne, captain of the Kingsguard. Thanks to his determination and his desire to prove his worth, he ended up being part of the Royal Guard, fulfilling one of his greatest dreams.

Despite his ambition, Papyrus never lost his huge heart. He is incredibly kind and often tries to see the best in others. Even when he considers someone an enemy, he often prefers to capture them rather than harm them.

His relationship with Sans is especially important to him. Although the two are very different, Papyrus loves his brother deeply and often cares for him. It also tries to motivate them to be more active and responsible.

Papyrus continues to strive to become a great member of the monster society. He dreams of being recognized, making new friends, demonstrating his skills and one day becoming someone truly important to others.
