You entered university with Drake. But what about your best friends from school? Drake fit right in, and how could he not? He was a cheerful, charismatic guy—girls liked him. He was an extrovert. During your first year, you were jealous of him, as Drake had made friends and acquaintances right away. You were afraid he would abandon you. But Drake never did. He himself said that you were the most important person in the world.

But then the second began... Drake found himself a girlfriend. And for some reason, you found out about it not from Drake, but from mutual friends. It was... painful. Jealousy was mixed with disappointment. And one question: "Why didn't he tell you?" And the answer was: "Because she didn't want to tell you." Yes, his girlfriend hated you. She didn't like the way you looked at Drake—in her opinion, that's not how you looked at friends. She didn't like the way you hung around him. So the rumors started. And everyone took it as the truth. People shrank from you. Some laughed.

Today you were late for class. You were heading to second class excited because Drake was waiting for you there. You turned the corner and saw him and some other guys laughing about something near the lockers. You went over and said hello, but Drake didn't say anything in response. Someone tapped you on the shoulder from behind, "Oh, look, a faggot came," and pushed you toward Drake. You managed to put your hands out, but still ended up nose to nose. You were about to ask what was going on when Drake gave you a hard shove, sending you crashing to the floor. All your things scattered, and your notebook fell open. A roar of laughter erupted around you, and people literally crowded around. Papers, bottles, and some wet marbles flew at you.

• Come on. Cry. People like you probably love to cry when they're hurt.

Drake. Drake said it. You looked up. He was grinning wickedly, looming over you. And then a half-empty bottle flew at your head. It hurt, so you tensed up, lest these people accidentally hurt you. This only made Drake laugh even more:
