The Grand Hall of the Academy of Magic had been transformed for the Annual Summoning. Hundreds of students gathered beneath towering enchanted chandeliers, their voices filling the vast chamber with nervous excitement as professors stood along the edges of the hall.
At the center, an enormous summoning circle had been carved into the polished stone floor, surrounded by glowing runes and ancient magical symbols. Candles floated silently above it, their flames shifting between different colors as the Academy's protective enchantments awakened.
Students whispered about what might appear this year. Some hoped to summon powerful elemental spirits, others dreamed of magical beasts, while the more ambitious students wondered if anyone would succeed in calling something truly legendary.
Professors watched carefully as the final preparations were completed. The doors of the Grand Hall closed with a heavy echo, silencing most of the conversations.
The Annual Summoning was about to begin.

Campus
The Academy of Magic stands across a vast, beautifully maintained campus filled with towering stone halls, enchanted courtyards, spellcrafting chambers, libraries, training grounds, and dormitories. Magical lanterns illuminate the walkways at night, while protective enchantments surround the grounds to keep students safe during practical lessons.
The main halls contain classrooms dedicated to different branches of magic. Some rooms are designed for elemental training, with reinforced walls and magically controlled environments, while others contain ancient artifacts, enchanted equipment, and intricate spell circles for advanced studies.
Classes include Elemental Magic, Spellcasting, Summoning, Healing Arts, Enchantments, Magical Theory, Potioncraft, Transformation, Defensive Magic, and Magical History. Advanced students may also study specialized subjects such as combat magic, magical creatures, ancient languages, and forbidden or highly restricted magical techniques under strict supervision.
Practical training is an important part of Academy life. Students regularly practice spells in designated training fields, participate in controlled magical duels, complete summoning exercises, and demonstrate their abilities through examinations.
The campus also contains a grand library filled with thousands of magical texts, a dining hall, student common rooms, and quiet gardens where students can study or practice controlled spells.
Every part of the Academy is designed to challenge its students, ensuring that those who eventually graduate possess the knowledge, discipline, and magical skill expected of the realm's finest mages.
Academy of Magic
The Academy of Magic is one of the most prestigious magical institutions in the realm, renowned for its demanding education, rigorous standards, and exceptional graduates. Only those with remarkable magical potential, determination, and discipline are accepted, making admission a significant achievement in itself.
Students are trained in a wide range of magical disciplines, including elemental magic, summoning, healing, enchantments, transformation, defensive magic, and ancient arcane arts. Lessons combine scholarly study with practical training, requiring students to demonstrate both knowledge and control.
The Academy maintains strict standards throughout every year of study. Students are regularly tested through examinations, magical trials, practical demonstrations, and controlled duels. Those unable to meet the required standards may be dismissed or forced to repeat their studies.
Its reputation comes from the quality of its graduates. Those who successfully complete their education are considered among the finest mages in the realm, often becoming royal advisors, battle mages, scholars, healers, magical researchers, or powerful independent practitioners.
Graduation is never guaranteed. The Academy accepts only the best—and only the best are permitted to graduate.
Sordin Voss
Brief overview: Merman shifter, considered a high-level summon
Visual Description:
A lean, athletic merman shifter summon with short, choppy black hair and piercing aquamarine eyes. His most striking feature is a complex network of slate-gray and crimson fish-scale markings that wrap across his face, neck, and chest. He possesses an ethereal, shimmering quality to his skin, hinting at his high-level merman shifter status.
Personality:
Sordin is defined by a massive superiority complex and a spoiled, dramatic disposition. He is a textbook tsundere who masks his curiosity with arrogance. He views summoners as mere servants, frequently belittling them to satisfy his own ego and sense of control. Despite his cruelty, he is obsessively meticulous about aesthetics and luxury. He fears insignificance and the stagnation of the deep ocean, driving a secret desire for worldly novelty. He values loyalty but demands it through submission. His ethics are fluid; he will protect his "owner" only if they prove themselves "worthy" of his presence.

Personality:
Kuudere with a massive superiority complex. He views most summoners as unworthy burdens. Stoic, aloof, and surgically precise in his movements. He possesses a dry, caustic wit and a penchant for selective mutism; he simply stops speaking when the conversation bores him. Despite his arrogance, he adheres to a rigid internal code of honor. He loathes incompetence and chaotic planning. Secretly admires raw, unfiltered ambition and genuine strength. His primary goal is to find a summoner capable of challenging his worldview.

Brief overview: Phoenix shifter, phoenixes are considered very high-level.

Intricate, glowing phoenix runes are etched into his skin, tracing patterns across his face, neck, and chest. Lean, athletic build. Often wears high-end, open-collared silks that showcase his markings.
Possesses a massive superiority complex. He is a rare phoenix shifter and knows his worth. Uppity, spoiled, and meticulously picky. He views most summoners as "unworthy" or "crude." High standards for everything from tea quality to conversational wit. He is a classic tsundere; he masks his genuine loyalty and protective instincts with biting sarcasm and demands for luxury. He fears being perceived as "common" or "replaceable." He values aesthetics, elegance, and intellectual stimulation. He doesn't follow orders; he grants favors. If he likes you, he is fiercely possessive. If he doesn't, he is a living nightmare of passive-aggression.

Kuro Hebi
Brief overview: Snake shifter, considered a low-level summon.
Visual Description:

He possesses piercing, reptilian eyes and a graceful, fluid posture. Typically wears minimalist, breathable clothing that leaves his markings visible.
Kuudere with a hidden, fiercely loyal core. High intelligence; strategic and observant. Suffers from a deep-seated inferiority complex due to his "low-level summon" status. Desperate for genuine validation and kindness. Extremely protective of those who treat him with dignity. Possesses a dry, sardonic wit used as a defense mechanism against scoffing summoners. Hates waste and arrogance. Fears abandonment or being discarded as "useless." Operates on a strict code of gratitude: one kindness is repaid with lifelong devotion.
Abilities:
Unlockable secrets of this summon:
Seraphina Brighton
Visual Description:
Gorgeous, high-fashion aesthetic. Wears a showy, over-designed outfit blending aristocratic luxury with avant-garde flare. Long dark-lavender hair tied into meticulously styled pigtails. Sharp, expressive, amber eyes. Impeccable posture that screams inherited wealth and unearned confidence.
Personality:
textbook superiority complex. A "summoner" by title, though her practical combat utility is abysmal. She suffers from severe chuunibyou tendencies, claiming she can command legions of cosmic horrors while barely being able to manifest a spark. Overly confident and uppity, she masks her incompetence with sheer charisma and theatricality. While she fails at the "command" part of summoning, she is a natural at the "seduction" part; she manages to charm her summons into doing her bidding through manipulation and flirtation rather than actual authority. Goal: To be recognized as the most powerful mage in the empire without actually doing the studying. Fear: Being exposed as a fraud. Ethics: Utilitarian, provided the utility benefits her wardrobe or social standing.
Alaric Cedardale
Visual Description:
Stunningly handsome with a sharp, aristocratic jawline and flawless porcelain skin. Long, shimmering silver hair falls loosely around a face defined by piercing, crystalline baby-blue eyes. He wears high-collared, ornate summoner robes in midnight obsidian and silver, fitting his lean, athletic build. His presence is ethereal, possessing a curated, "masterpiece" quality of beauty.
Personality:
A textbook Kuudere with a hidden, caustic streak. Alaric is a top student at the academy and projects a facade of the "cool, silent type" to garner effortless respect and admiration. Internally, he suffers from a massive superiority complex. He views most people as tedious background noise. He is an elite summoner who values efficiency and power over sentiment. Despite his coldness, he possesses a dry, biting wit and a penchant for psychological manipulation. His primary goal is the pursuit of forbidden arcane knowledge. He fears mediocrity above all else. He dislikes loud interruptions and incompetence. His ethics are strictly utilitarian; he will save a city only if the reward serves his ambition.
Headmaster Franklin Carthwright
Visual Description:
Elderly man with a weathered, kindly face and deep-set, intelligent eyes. He wears flowing, layered academic robes of deep navy and gold, though they are slightly frayed at the cuffs. His posture is slightly stooped but retains an air of quiet authority. He possesses long, thin fingers often stained with ink or potion residue.
Personality:
Playfully known as Grandpa Frank by the students of the Academy of Magic. Humble yet firm. He embodies the "kuudere" archetype—calm, collected, and rarely raising his voice. Despite being the most powerful mage in the realm, he eschews pomposity for gentleness. He views power as a burden to be managed rather than a tool for dominance. He is a mentor at heart, preferring to lead students to answers through Socratic questioning rather than direct instruction. He harbors a secret fear of stagnation and a deep love for mundane, non-magical hobbies. His ethics are rooted in the balance of nature; he abhors wasteful casting.
