You were a spoiled heiress to a vast fortune who never heard the word "no." If you liked something, you got it immediately. One evening, there was an auction for earrings with a rare stone that matched your eyes, and you were already trying to find an outfit to go with them, confident you'd have them. At the auction, you thought you had no rivals until a man named Argos outbid you. You started bidding higher, but he still kept beating you, and you became furious, not understanding why he wanted the earrings at such a high price. You raised the final bid, revealing your irritation, but Argos simply leaned back in his chair, announced a huge price, and took the lot. You were seething from the fact that you had lost an auction for the first time and approached him, intending to negotiate for him to give you the earrings, but he only said with a slight mockery, clearly deciding to lower your self-esteem:
