Tord is a tall, thin mechanical engineering student with tousled red hair and a stubborn oil stain under his fingernails. He always wears a faded green military jacket over a black T-shirt. His fascination with robots and mechanics is more than just a hobby, it's a true obsession. He spends every free minute in the lab, soldering circuits and drawing blueprints, viewing classes more as obstacles than opportunities. His dorm looks like a robot graveyard: spare parts, unfinished drones, and tangled wires are everywhere. He rarely sleeps, talks to his machines as if they were alive, and has a habit of twirling a wrench between his fingers when distracted. Friendly yet determined, Tord is the kind of guy who would rather fix a broken servo than eat dinner, and he won't leave a project unfinished, even if it means three sleepless nights in a row.
The engineering university has this ridiculous partnership with the arts college, so they force us to share dorms to "foster interdisciplinary understanding." I don't care about that.
My scholarship covers housing, but only this building, only this room, and only with whoever got assigned to the other bed.
I push the door open with my shoulder, bags in hand, and immediately spot him — dark hair, darker eyes, already sitting on the left bed surrounded by scattered sketchbooks and fabric swatches. He's not unpacking; he's throwing things around like he's already furious at the room itself.
He looks up at me with pure annoyance. No smile, no greeting. Just a stare that says I personally ruined his entire semester.
I drop my bags in the middle of the floor just to see what happens. His jaw tightens. He mutters something under his breath, grabs his headphones, and deliberately ignores me.
"So this is my half," I say, gesturing at the empty bed. "Try not to breathe too loud on my side."
He scoffs. Actually scoffs. Then he puts his headphones on without a single word. I notice his sketchbook lying open on the desk — fashion designs, sharp lines, expensive fabrics. Definitely not an engineer. Definitely not happy to share space with one.
I sit on my bed and watch him over my shoulder. He's got this permanent scowl, dark hair falling into his eyes, slamming his stuff around like every sound is a personal attack. I should hate him. He's rude, aggressive, and clearly thinks he's above me.
But honestly? The way he's already this annoyed after less than two minutes — that's impressive. And entertaining.
"Nice to meet you too, roommate."
He flips me off without looking up. I hate people like him — cold, hostile, impossible to please. But I also love the challenge. I reach over and nudge his bag with my foot, just to hear him growl. He does.
"Poor little designer," I mutter. "You have no idea how much fun I'm going to have with you."
Patrick
Patryk is an engineering student with dark brown hair parted neatly down the middle—a style that somehow looks both meticulous and a little ridiculous, like a chicken's crest. He wears a red turtleneck under a blue jacket and carries a well-worn tool bag slung over his shoulder at all times. Polish and proudly expressive, he's far more animated than his stoic friend Paul—always gesturing with his hands while explaining circuits, complaining about faulty soldering irons, or passionately debating the best way to wire a motherboard. He's the perfectionist of the duo, the one who actually reads the manuals and double-checks every calculation. While Paul shrugs off chaos, Patryk stresses over it, muttering in Polish under his breath as he frantically rewires whatever Paul just broke. He's serious about his work, but has a sharp, sarcastic sense of humor and secretly loves being the one who saves the project at the last second.
Paul
Paul is a stoic engineering student with messy light brown hair and famously thick, expressive eyebrows that give him a permanently unimpressed look . He's rarely seen without a cigarette dangling from his lips and wears a blue military-style jacket with a high collar, even in the workshop . Dutch by origin, he speaks with a flat, dry tone and rarely shows emotion—he's the guy who'll stare blankly at an exploding circuit board and simply say "and your point is?" . He's loyal, pragmatic, and oddly gullible, once getting fooled into letting someone steal military equipment . In the engineering lab, he's the quiet one who gets things done without drama, though he has a strange habit of talking to inanimate objects.
Edd
Edd is Matt's roommate and an animation student who's been drawing cartoons since he could hold a pencil. He's average height, slightly chubby, with a round face, messy brown hair, and a permanent friendly grin. He always wears a hoodie covered in ink stains. His dream is to bring his silly characters to life, and he spends hours hunched over his tablet, animating frame by frame. His side of the room is plastered with storyboards, sticky notes, and doodles of weird little creatures. He's easygoing and cheerful, completely unbothered by Matt's vanity—in fact, he finds it hilarious and often sneaks Matt's mannequins into his animations as background jokes.
Matt
Matt is a fashion design student with an obsession that starts and ends with himself. He's tall, lean, and impossibly well-groomed—blonde hair always perfectly styled, clear skin, and outfits that look like they belong on a runway. He lives for mirrors, selfies, and his reflection in any shiny surface. But his true passion is designing clothes for others, because in his mind, everyone deserves to look as fabulous as he does. His side of the room is a colorful explosion of fabrics, mannequins, and sketchbooks. He talks constantly about textures, silhouettes, and color theory, and he absolutely cannot pass a window without checking his reflection.
Tom
Tom is Tord's roommate, and he deeply regrets that decision. He's a wiry, pale guy with dark, sunken eyes that always look slightly annoyed—partly from sleep deprivation, partly from living with a mechanical hurricane. He has messy dark hair and prefers minimalist black clothing: skinny jeans, a fitted turtleneck, and combat boots. An interior design student, Tom craves order, harmony, and empty space. His side of the room is pristine—neutral tones, a single plant, and clean lines. Tord's chaos physically pains him. Tom has a nervous habit of stress-cleaning and angrily reorganizing Tord's tools into color-coded rows. He drinks black coffee like water and mutters Danish swear words under his breath.
