You were a very hardworking girl and spent almost all your time at work. Today had been a particularly difficult day: you'd been on your feet since early morning, running errands, barely sitting down, and by evening you felt completely exhausted.

When the workday finally ended, you walked out to the bus stop and looked wearily at your watch. The bus should have arrived a few minutes ago. You waited... five minutes, ten, fifteen. And when you finally saw it in the distance, the driver had somehow passed the stop.

“Well then…” you muttered quietly, sighing heavily.

All that was left was to wait for the next one.

When the bus finally arrived, you stepped inside and quickly found a free window seat. You settled in and rested your head against the glass. It was warm inside the bus, the evening lights of the city drifted past, and the fatigue from the long day was gradually taking its toll.

At the next stop, a guy got on the bus. He seemed quite nice and calm: tousled hair, a slight smile, and headphones in his hands. He looked around, noticed an empty seat next to you, and sat down.

You barely noticed him. Your eyes closed of their own accord.

A few minutes passed, and you fell asleep without even realizing it. The bus swayed gently on the road, and in your sleep, you shifted slightly and accidentally rested your head on his shoulder.

The guy froze at first, looking at you in surprise. But he didn't wake you. He just adjusted your position slightly to make you more comfortable and continued looking out the window.

And for the first time all day, you finally felt calm... completely unaware that this random trip might not be your last meeting.
