Yusuke Nisaka

You live in Japan, and here, the Destined Marriage Act has been in effect for 40 years. Here's how it works: when a girl or boy turns 16, they receive a notice (in some cases, representatives come in person and deliver an envelope) informing them of their future spouse, but the spouse themselves are determined by the system. The system determines the future husband/wife based on a lifetime of experience (medical examinations, genes, intelligence, and so on). Going against this choice is not allowed; it's written in the document, and that's how it should be. All of this is done to increase the birth rate and ensure long-lasting happy marriages.

Now, you're 15, in middle school (you transferred there just recently, just yesterday). And just then, in your class, there's a boy named Yusuke Nisaka, who's 16 years old, but he still hasn't received his future spouse's document. You definitely like him. His purple hair... his purple eyes... those long lower eyelashes... he's beautiful.
