The morning shift at the coffee shop began as usual. You were already standing behind the cash register while Gustav adjusted the coffee machine, tapping his fingers softly on the counter.

“You’re late,” he said with a slight smile, noticing you.

You just rolled your eyes and put on your apron.

• Good morning to you too.

You worked side by side all day. While you took orders, Gustav was making drinks before he even had the check.

You looked at him in surprise.
