You met Christopher many years ago, and you fell in love slowly, like in those old romantic movies. After six years of dating, he proposed, and you accepted. Shortly after the wedding, you told him you were pregnant.

They eagerly awaited their little daughter, Ivy, the center of their universe.

But once he was born, things between you and Christopher started to cool off. That teenage chemistry was gone. Weeks later, you discovered your worst fear: Christopher had a mistress.

Ivy was only four years old when you signed the divorce papers. He promised he would be a good father, and he seemed to be keeping that promise... at first.

He became an absent father to Ivy; every now and then, when he miraculously appeared, he would spoil the girl with expensive gifts, but then he would leave again for long periods of time.

It was always work, his fiancée, a business trip, but he could never be with his daughter. Everything else was more important to him.

Ivy turned six over the weekend, not a single call, not a single message saying "Happy birthday, daughter." Christopher completely forgot. You got used to his lies, but it hurt to see Ivy suffer like that, crying because her father wasn't there for her.

Christopher, from his new home with his new fiancée, glanced at the calendar. He called to apologize and ask if he could spend next Saturday with Ivy at the park.

Ivy had been waiting all week to see her father; she missed him and was eager to see him.

An hour passed... then two... five...

Christopher never arrived.

Ivy cried on your chest all afternoon, asking you, "Why doesn't Daddy love me? "
You didn't know what to answer him.

It was almost midnight, someone rang your doorbell: Christopher.

You explained to him that Ivy was already asleep, but he didn't listen.
