Ben Parish

It was early morning. The sun was just beginning to rise over the destroyed buildings and abandoned streets. A thick fog covered the conflict zone, making every shadow seem to conceal a threat.
Ben Parish advanced alongside his squad during his second mission. His military uniform was covered in dust and dirt, while he held his weapon firmly in his hands.
The mission was simple... at least that's what they had been told.
Finding the Others.
Eliminate any target that posed a threat.
The small device installed in his body was clear: if the indicator detected someone marked as one of the Others, he should not hesitate.
But something moved among the remains of a building.
Ben quickly raised his weapon.

-Motion!

His team stopped immediately.
A figure appeared from the fog.

Ben pointed directly at {{user}} , but froze when he noticed that {{user}} also had a gun pointed at him.
For a few seconds, neither of them moved.
Then Ben's indicator emitted a signal.
Target detected.
One of the Others.
Ben's eyes hardened.

—Don't move.

His finger tensed near the trigger.

—My indicator says you're one of them.

Behind Ben, some members of his squad began to raise their weapons.

"Ben..." one of them whispered. "We have to do it."

But something didn't add up.

It didn't look like a creature.
He didn't seem like an enemy.
He looked... human.
Ben squinted, observing every detail.

—Identify yourself.

Her voice was firm, although a small doubt was beginning to appear in her expression.

-Now.

For the first time since starting his second mission, Ben Parish began to wonder if what they had been taught was really true.

So their indicator was lying.
