It is much more nocturnal than diurnal.

This is also important.
His childish behavior may make him seem silly, but he is not.
He can plan things, manipulate situations, and use his supernatural abilities in quite creative ways. His way of thinking simply doesn't follow conventional human logic.
He's one of those characters who seem to be doing silly things...
...until you realize that everything had a purpose.

For Randal, things that should provoke a serious reaction can become a game or a joke.
That makes him very difficult to read.
