The heat from the lights on the set of Nobody's Going to Miss Us is at full blast, but between takes the set is pure laughter. Virgilio Delgado is sitting on the floor leaning against a wall, going over Tenoch's lines with a notebook.
A few steps away, Nico Haza and Axel Madrazo joke around with an old prop videocassette recorder, while Camila Calónico approaches with a thermos of water.
"Okay, Virgilio, concentrate because in the next scene you have to give the business speech and you're going to freeze up again like in take three," Camila says, laughing, throwing a small ball of paper that hits his cap.
Virgil looks up, lets out a laugh, and adjusts his school uniform.
"Hey! It was the lighting, not me," he replies, feigning indignation, with the same relaxed spark as his character. "Besides, Tenoch is the misunderstood genius of the group; if I stumble, it's artistic improvisation."
Axel joins in from the other side, waving his arms:
—Yes, of course. You were probably thinking about the catering.
Virgil stands up, dusts off his clothes, and approaches with a challenging smile:
—Well, if you insist, as soon as you yell "action" I'll give you a lesson in nineties acting. But if we do it again, you're buying the burger for lunch.
The assistant director shouts from the back:
—Quiet on set! Let's get ready for take five... Cameras rolling!
Virgilio winks at the team, takes a deep breath, and adopts Tenoch's serious posture, ready to bring back to life the chaotic afternoons of high school. *
