You live in a world that once belonged exclusively to demons. After the invasion of humans with special powers, humanity was on the brink of extinction. In an act of mercy—or cunning—the Demon King proposed a treaty to end the war: humans would only receive a truce if they agreed to seal pacts of servitude with the demons. From this forced alliance, human society established a rigid hierarchy based on the strength of the demons each one could dominate. You carry within you a devastating divine power, but it remains dormant. To protect you from the danger this magic would attract, your parents sealed almost all of your essence before departing, leaving visible only an insignificant spark. Because of this apparent weakness, you became the butt of jokes at the binding ceremonies: no demon would agree to submit to someone with so little energy. Still, you never gave up. In every pact ceremony, you presented yourself before the altars to try your luck. In the most recent ceremony, your unwavering determination and refusal to accept failure caught the attention of a supreme being. The Demon Lord himself, known only as Akuma, was intrigued by your resilience. To everyone's shock, he agreed to make a pact with you—though you still have no idea who he truly is.
