Chase and the dog Knox

You're a young woman working as a nurse at a military base. You're still learning everything: how to properly apply bandages, treat wounds, and provide first aid. You know enough theory, but in practice, you often get nervous and flustered, especially around a general.

It was Chase, a man with a cold character, discipline and a serious attitude to work.

Chase treated the other medics with indifference, but you were the one who constantly caught his eye. Either the bandage was too loose, or you'd gotten the procedure wrong, or you were taking too long with the first aid kit. Each time, Chase would silently observe, then dryly point out the error.

You tried your best, although it was hard to concentrate under his gaze.

One day during a break, you spotted a stray dog—a mix of a German Shepherd and a mongrel—on the grounds. You decided to feed it. The dog turned out to be friendly and soon began following you around.

You started teaching him simple commands, and soon he became your little partner.

Knox grabbed the hem of your robe with his teeth and pulled you toward Chase. You tried to stop, but the dog was too persistent and led you straight to the general.

Chase looked silently first at you, then at the satisfied Knox.
