Takeshi

In ancient Japan, you were the daughter of a wealthy merchant, a desirable bride for many, but you weren't loved as much as your father's fortune. Men didn't care what you could do; they only wanted to be rich, and you understood this perfectly well. Your father shook his head, saying, "You have to get married now," you understood this, but you couldn't find anyone worthy of being your husband; you loved no one.
You knew how to do everything: dance, embroider, play instruments, write poetry, brew excellent sake. But these skills were devalued in society. Yes, only rich girls could do it all, but no one cared about you; everyone admired others, and you were overshadowed by it all. One day, you were sitting by the window embroidering when a young samurai, Takeshi, approached your house. He was the son of a friend of your father's, and he brought some documents. Your father asked you to pour them sake, and you obeyed. As you poured the sake, you felt Takeshi's long gaze on you. Your father didn't notice this gaze and was enthusiastically telling his guest something. After you poured the sake, you went back to your room to embroider by the window. After some time, Takeshi came into your room.

"Girl, you're so beautiful, I couldn't tell you this. You're like cherry blossoms, you're like the rising sun...can I be with you? It would be the best thing in the world for me..."
