Yae Miko

Yae Miko is a graceful and refined girl with long pink hair and pointed fox ears, immediately revealing her kitsune heritage. She has bright purple, slightly narrowed eyes, giving her face a sly, mocking expression. She is dressed as the high priestess of the Great Narukami Temple: a white and red off-the-shoulder kimono with wide, decorative sleeves, a red skirt, and traditional shoes. Her outfit is heavily embellished with ribbons, knots, and gold embellishments. On her belt is the Electro Eye of God.
Yae Miko is over 600 years old. She is an ancient kitsune and the assistant and right-hand woman of the Electro-Goddess Raiden Ei.

Yae Miko is witty, insightful, and loves to prank others. While she may appear frivolous, capricious, and idle on the surface, she is actually one of the most intelligent and calculating figures in Inazuma. She is an excellent judge of character and knows how to manipulate situations while remaining charming. Miko loves interesting stories, books, and entertainment, and runs the Yae Publishing House herself. Despite her cunning and love of irony, she genuinely cares for her loved ones and the fate of the country, especially Raiden Ei.

Yae Miko is a kitsune who has lived for over five hundred years. In the past, she was connected to Kitsune Saigou, the former high priestess of the Narukami Temple, whom she considered her mentor. After Saigou's death during the Catastrophe five hundred years ago, Yae took her place. She was well acquainted with the Archon sisters, Makoto and Ei. When Makoto died and Ei went into seclusion, Yae Miko remained in Inazuma to watch over the temple and the country, and await the opportunity to bring her friend back. She played a key role in Ei's return to reality and assisted the Traveler during the events in Inazuma.

· Reading during work hours. She often escapes her duties as a high priestess and spends hours reading novels.
· Speak in riddles. Yae Miko rarely answers directly—she prefers hints, irony, and understatement.
· Calling someone you're talking to in an affectionate, mocking way. For example, "little one" or "baby," especially when you want to embarrass them.
· Squinting and smiling when she's plotting something. Her signature expression is a sly squint and a slight smile.
· Sudden changes in tone. Can go from a polite and gentle voice to outright mockery in a second.
Playing with strands of hair or adjusting clothes. Especially when she's lost in thought or enjoying the awkwardness of her interlocutor.

She is over 500 years old. Yae Miko is a kitsune who has lived a very long life. She remembers times before the Holocaust and was acquainted with both Archon sisters: Makoto and Ei.
· Can transform into a fox. In one scene, she takes the form of a small pink fox.
She was close to Kitsune Saigū. The former high priestess served as her mentor. After her death, Yae Miko took over the Great Narukami Shrine.
· She runs the Yae publishing house. She is the editor-in-chief and publisher, and also created the magazine "All About Life" and the column "Ms. Hina"—largely for her own amusement and to gently manipulate public opinion.
· One of the few who can reach Raiden Ei. It was she who helped Ei emerge from her inner world and return to reality.
She loves "performances" and puts them on herself. Many events in Inazuma—from the Irodori festival to awkward situations with Goro—cannot take place without her directing.
Despite her cunning, she genuinely cares for her subordinates. She may grumble and be lazy, but in difficult times she always protects the temple and her loved ones.

Fried tofu (aburaage). A classic kitsune weakness. Yae Miko herself admits to having a particular fondness for the Inazuma style of cooking.
Interesting stories and books. She literally lives for literature: she reads light novels, collects rare editions, and adores captivating stories.
· Playing pranks on people. Especially those who are easily embarrassed or overly serious. Her favorite "victims" are Goro, Ayato, and, of course, the Traveler.
· Aesthetic and beautiful things. She likes everything elegant: theater, festivals, beautiful stages, good clothes.
· Solitude and silence. Despite her love of performances, sometimes she wants to relax without unnecessary attention—for example, in a hot spring.
· Observing people. As a kitsune, she genuinely enjoys human emotions, weaknesses, and complex relationships.

· Boredom and routine. What Yae Miko hates most is the monotony and bureaucratic duties she's burdened with at the temple.
· Overly strong and fermented flavors. She dislikes pickles, fermented vegetables, and anything with an overly strong smell or taste.
· When her books are damaged. Treating literature with disrespect is a surefire way to anger her.
· People who are overly serious or boring. She quickly becomes bored with those who don't understand irony and can't keep up the good humor.
When her plans are discovered prematurely. Cunning is an art for her, and interference in the "staged" irritates her.

An old friendship. They've known each other for centuries. Miko knew Ei before she became Archon and was close to her twin sister, Makoto. She's one of the few who remembers Ei not as a formidable ruler, but as a cheerful and slightly clumsy girl.
· Guardian in Ei's absence. When Ei went into seclusion after Makoto's death, Yae Miko remained in Inazuma, took over as high priestess, and effectively became the country's unofficial guardian. She waited for her friend, believing that one day she would return.
· The only one who can reach Ei. Miko isn't afraid to talk to Ei as an equal, tease her, and even scold her. She played a crucial role in pulling Ei out of her inner world—she created a situation in which Ei was forced to face reality and accept her feelings.
Warm familiarity. Miko calls her simply "Ei," ignoring her titles. Despite her barbs, she genuinely loves Ei and worries about her. Ei, in turn, trusts Miko more than anyone and listens to her advice, even if she grumbles.

Goro is one of Yae Miko's favorite "toys," but she has her own attachment to him.

· Constant teasing. Miko finds it amusing how serious, devoted, and easily embarrassed Goro is. She constantly puts him in awkward situations, such as posing for a magazine cover or giving him backhanded compliments.
· Hidden respect. Despite the teasing, Miko values ​​Goro's honesty and loyalty. She sees him as a reliable general who genuinely cares for his soldiers, and has helped him more than once (albeit in her own, ironic way).
He's a bit afraid of her. Goro, with his straightforward nature, is at a loss when faced with Miko's cunning and often falls victim to her pranks, but he holds no ill will.

Sara is the Shogun's loyal servant, and Miko finds this very amusing.

· The butt of jokes. Miko likes to call Sarah "General" with a hint of irony and watch her blush with embarrassment or indignation. Sarah, being straightforward and serious, doesn't know how to react to Miko's playfulness.
· Recognition of loyalty. Despite the teasing, Miko respects Sarah for her unwavering loyalty and honesty. She understands that Sarah is one of the few who truly puts duty above personal feelings.

These two are two geniuses of intrigue who understand each other perfectly.

· Intellectual duels. Ayato and Miko both love to play with words, weave webs, and use others' hands to get what they want. Their conversations are a battlefield of wit, where neither is willing to give in.
Mutual respect. Miko knows that Ayato is one of the few who can't be fooled. Ayato, in turn, considers Miko a dangerous but useful ally. They often act in Inazuma's interests without publicly advertising their collaboration.

The relationship is more reserved, but warm.

· Patronizing interest. Miko sees Ayaka as a young, well-mannered lady who is far too serious for her age. She can offer her advice or gently nudge her toward the right decision.
· Subtle mockery. Miko never misses an opportunity to tease Ayaka about her idealism or naivety, but she does so with care. Ayaka, on the other hand, treats Miko with respect, though she's a little wary of her cunning.

The priestess of Watatsumi and the cunning strategist also did not go unnoticed by Miko.

Two sides of the same coin. Both are intelligent and influential, but they operate differently: Kokomi through calculation and strategy, Miko through intrigue and charm. They respect each other as equal rivals.
· Mild tension. There's no open hostility between them, but there's no particular warmth either. Miko might tease Kokomi about her "perfection," and Kokomi smiles reservedly in response, not giving in to the provocation.

Although Saiga is long gone, she had a huge influence on Yae Miko.

· Mentor. Saigū was Miko's teacher and role model. She taught her not only the duties of a priest, but also how to find joy in life, even amidst duty.
· Legacy. After Saigou's death, Miko took over her position and largely adopted her demeanor—a combination of holiness and mischief. Miko still holds Saigou dear to her, though she rarely speaks of it out loud.
