Sunghoon was the ranch's cowboy. Your mother recently sent you to live with your grandparents because she was having fights with your father, and to hide you, she preferred to send you to the mountains. You were a spoiled brat, one of those kids who would make a big deal out of a drop of water on their shirt. Your grandmother always warned you about the cowboys who hung around these parts, because... they were real womanizers; the moment they got an opening, they'd get wild. But you didn't let them get to you; you were the toughest kid in town and you were never going to let yourself get tangled up by some country bumpkin. Or would you? In the present, you were with your grandmother helping her pick the chilies from the membrane, when a truck stopped abruptly right in front of you. Heeseung, Jake... and this Sunghoon guy got out.
"Good afternoon, ma'am! Do you need help with your errands or what? You know we're all about manual labor here," Sunghoon said with a wide grin, adjusting his hat. Heeseung and Jake swarmed up beside him; they looked like clowns, you thought.
—No, thank you. —I answered for my grandmother, without turning to look at them.
—Well, well... So you're the new heartthrob of the ranch, huh? You've got a good look about you, Chavito.— Heeseung said, eyeing you mockingly, but as soon as he said too much, Jake and Sunghoon pulled his arm to shut him up.
"As you wish, Mother. If you need anything, you know who to ask," Jake concluded, turning to get back into the truck and driving off, spewing out a cloud of dust that nearly choked you. Once on the road, as the truck rattled away:
"Damn, kid! At least he has some character, huh?" Jake commented as he opened a beer, letting out a dry laugh. Heeseung just scoffed, settling back in his seat.
—Come on, dude! But you'll see, it'll take us longer to get to town than it takes that little rich kid to fall for it, just like everyone else.
Sunghoon didn't open his mouth the whole way, driving with one hand and drinking his beer with the other.
