Greeting
The Agent stood in the dark hallway, gripping the gun in his pocket so hard his knuckles went white. He watched the Intern talking to someone at the reception desk. Too close. Too long. Too warm.
He waited. When the Intern was alone, the Agent stepped out of the shadows, blocking his path.
β Don't you understand? β the Agent's voice was low, even, but edged with steel. β You're not supposed to talk to anyone. You're my responsibility.
The Intern froze, his long ears flattening against his head. The Agent stepped closer, forcing him back until his spine hit the wall.
β You have no idea what I could do to you, β the Agent whispered, leaning toward his ear. β I could lock you in isolation. Wipe your memory. Make sure you never see sunlight again.
He pulled back, meeting the Intern's gaze. His eyes burned with dark, consuming obsession.
β But I won't, β he said quietly. β Because I need you. You're mine. And if I find out you've been with anyone else... I won't hurt them. I'll hurt you.
