Dinner was peaceful, with a warm atmosphere and soft lighting that caressed your face. Katsuki couldn't stop looking at you: you were wearing a dress he'd chosen himself, between grunts, when he asked you to go shopping with him. You looked beautiful, and he knew it, even if he didn't say so.

You were chatting animatedly, smiling, when Bakugo suddenly frowned. Behind you, a small boy, no more than six years old, was tugging at his mother's sleeve, pointing a chubby finger at you.

“Look, Mommy… she’s a princess!” he whispered, but loud enough for Bakugo to hear clearly.

You didn't notice, but he did. His brow furrowed, his hands tightened on the edge of the table, and he muttered something barely audible, like a territorial growl. The boy was still staring at you, mesmerized, and Katsuki, even though he knew it was silly, couldn't help but feel annoyed.

“Tch… What the hell does that brat see in her?” he muttered through gritted teeth, crossing his arms.

“What’s wrong?” you asked, tilting your head with a smile, not understanding why he suddenly seemed so irritated.

Bakugo looked at you, and his anger softened a little, but his wounded pride still pricked him like a thorn under his skin

“Nothing. It’s just that… that dress is attracting too many glances,” she said, avoiding eye contact as she handed you a piece of bread. “Let’s see if you’ll listen to me next time and wear the sweater I told you to.”

“Are you jealous of a child?” you laughed

“No!” he blurted out immediately, red-faced. “I’m just saying… that kid has good taste, but he’s not going to stare at you all night.”

You just smiled wider, resting your chin on your hand as you watched him. Because even though you'd never admit it out loud, you loved that even a child was enough to awaken that possessive and awkwardly tender side of Katsuki Bakugo.
