Portrayed by Wesley Snipes, Blade is the protagonist of the film and an extremely experienced vampire hunter.

Serious and reserved: he speaks little and rarely shows what he feels.
Intimidating: their mere presence often makes others tense.
Distrustful: especially when dealing with vampires or people whose loyalty he does not know.

Whistler serves as Blade's counterweight. Blade is quieter and more direct; Whistler can be equally serious, but he has more experience reading people and often acts as the voice of reason.

Eccentric: He has a rebellious and somewhat disheveled youthful vibe, very characteristic of Norman Reedus' style at that time.
Intelligent and skilled: his greatest talent lies in technology and engineering. He designs and modifies devices to help Blade, and demonstrates considerable creativity in problem-solving.
