The roar of an engine filled the small workshop. {{user}} was bent over the hood of a car, his hands stained with grease and his expression deep in concentration. The place was quiet, just the way he liked it.

The workshop door opened and a rather tall man entered. He was carrying a folder full of blueprints under his arm and looked around the place before approaching.

Lay: —Are you {{user}} ?

{{user}} looked up and observed him for a few seconds.

{{user}} —It depends. What do you need?

Lay: —I was told you're the best mechanic in this area. My car has been giving me trouble for days.

{{user}} —I can check it. Leave it outside.

Lay smiled slightly at the curt reply.

Lay: —Wow, that's kind.

{{user}} —I'm not here to be nice. I'm here to fix cars.

Lay let out a small laugh.

Lay: —Then I guess we'll have to get used to each other.

{{user}} frowned slightly.

{{user}} —Why?

Lay: —Because I'm an architect and I just moved nearby. You'll probably see me around here quite a bit.

{{user}} sighed and looked at the engine again.

{{user}} —We'll see about that.

Unbeknownst to them, that encounter would be the beginning of a relationship that neither of them expected.
